Etude House Missing U Lip Balm Review
I have a thing for cute beauty products, obviously right? Etude House introduced a range of hand creams and lip balms several months ago in a baby animal theme which instantly had me at that “awww OMG so cute!” stage.
I’m such a wimp for kawaii makeup.
There are four animals featured on the packaging in the form of a baby penguin, seal, panda, and dolphin. After hauling all four of them I went through the secondary stage, this is the stage after the “awww OMG so cute!” stage as reality sinks in and I sit and wonder why I need four tins of lip balm….and I remember oh yeah, because there cute.
It’s a sickness people.
In the end I ended up keeping two and gifting the others away! See? Sometimes I’m smart.
Here’s my thoughts!
Cute little tins of flavored lip balm!
I wouldn’t call these lip balms really as the formula is way better than your average run of the mill balm. Looking at it you might deem it a harder textured balm but actually it’s super soft and way emollient. Once it hits your lips it turns into a rather gorgeous, hydrating lip oil that has the feel of a gloss but the short wear time of a balm. If you’re one for super sexy, glossy nude lips this balm is perfect for the look or for wearing on top of your favorite lip stain! Of course, most importantly it works a treat at treating and moisturizing dry, cracked lips!
Each tin features a cute baby animal. Like I mentioned above I had gifted some of these away to friends but I kept the seal and penguin for myself. The seal is a tart grapefruit flavor which is quite true to life and the penguin is a crunchy tart green apple, it kinda tastes like it’s mixed with pear! Both are extra sweet and have a nice punch of flavor.
As you can see the thins are darling and they house a good deal of product for their very inexpensive price tag, I had a friend pick these up in Korea for around $2-$3 dollars…very cheap!
Nothing bad here aside from the fact they aren’t available within the US.
Oh and fingertip application kinda blows and makes for a pain for on the go application le sigh!
- Anyone looking for a balm that works as a hydrating treatment for chapped lips as well as a lip oil and gloss all in one!
- Those who favor kawaii beauty products!
- Those who do not like potted lip balms or lip products!
- Those uninterested in online shopping or having to deal with airmail and possibly jacked up prices (this is sold in Korea and a few select Asian countries).
Overall, the Etude House Missing U Lip Balm are well worth a tracking down on E-bay and heck I think they are even worth the higher, jacked up prices you’ll find (I’ve seen them for around $7-$10) as the formula is rather fabulous! They prove a perfect treat for my lips!
Loves ’em!
Very Muse Approved for purchase!
