Givenchy Naivement Couture Givenchy Le Prisme Eyeshadow Quartet Candide Garden Review, Swatches, Photos
Givenchy Le Prisme Eyeshadow Quartet in Candide Garden was released with the Givenchy Spring Collection 2011. Loving this palette but couldn’t recreate their promo look with it, I’d never be able to pull that one off (CLICK!).
Givenchy’s shadow formula continues to evolve and you might be surprised at how nicely pigmented Candide Garden is. I’ve had a soft spot in my heart for the Le Prisme Eyeshadow Quartets but the new formula is sure to garner interest from newer Givenchy makeup users.
Let’s take a look!
A palette of Spring greens and peaches!
The palette has a real Spring vibe and features shades of rebirth aka Spring colors. A softer grassy yellow green, two soft shades of deeper and light peach, and a chocolate-y brown offer a refreshing, garden-like color palette that creates a number of Spring friendly looks.
Givenchy includes instructions for creating three looks but I find the palette, with a little imagination, can be used in any number of looks and creations. It’s just a really versatile to me and suits my maturing eyes gracefully without being too bold or too crazy. The shades can be paired up to create a lighter or a more darker look. The look I created below is a more smoked out look using the brown and peach shades for contrast but you can easily use the peaches and grassy green yellow for a lighter look. I love how easily these shades pair up so I’m not left sitting and staring at the palette trying to think up ways to use it, these just work together simply without alot of brain power on my part.
The actually formula is a refreshing change from Givenchy’s norm as the shades are softer to the touch with better color pay off compared to some of my older quads from the brand. The fine milled texture blends super easily and wears quite lovely throughout the day without fading out.
Although small the quad features a small pull out draw with tiny sponge applicators and a brush for application although they prove a little unconventional due to their size.
At $56 beautiful makeup doesn’t come cheap sadly but for such great quality, I do think it’s worth it.
- Anyone who loves Givenchy Quads (this one proves special for Spring!).
- Those looking for an easy to use Spring palette that works for lighter, refreshing looks or smoky, sulty ones!
- Anyone who’s tried and owns Givenchy Quads but hasn’t indulged in a while (try out the new formula, it’s lovely!).
- Anyone unwilling to spend $56 on a single quad (the price tag could prove too much for those who normally purchase drugstore or mid-range brands).
Overall, I thought the palette was a rather fun little selection of shades! I loved the simplicity behind the shades that allowed for easy, contrasting looks sans having my brain degree handy, be honest, sometimes palette shades prove difficult to pair up occasionally eh?
If you haven’t indulged in a Givenchy Quartet before this is a good start for beginners and long time users will adore the smoother, silkier formula that contains a great deal of color pay off compared to the old formula.
Really loved this one.
It’s worth a swatch on your next trip to Sephora.
Anyone haul it?
