Note: Apologies I’ll update later today with swatches of the foundation and before and after shots of the mascara.
By now you really don’t need me to go back into what you’ll get in this set as it went viral when I originally posted about it but here’s a recap if you’ve been living under a rock hehe!
- Tarte Amazonian Clay Balancing Foundation SPF 15 (Your Choice of Fair, Light, Medium, Tan or Deep)
- Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Wear Powder Blush in Glisten
- Tarte Amazonian Clay Long Wear Eye Shadow Quad (Includes Shimmering Cocoa, Shimmering Bronze, Shimmering Sand, and Shimmering Plum)
- Tarte EmphasEyes Amazonian Clay Waterproof Eyeliner in Golden Plum
- Tarte Pureoptic Moisturizing Lip Gloss in Golden Pink
- Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Volumizing Mascara in Black

Not counting the large makeup bag you get with this set you’re looking at $6.80 per full size item in the set. That’s an absurdly good deal! You’re looking at eyeshadow, liner, gloss, mascara, foundation…everything you need for a full face look. The price is amazing!
I’m really enjoying the Tarte Amazonian Clay Balancing Foundation but as many of you suspected it does run very light. I got mine in medium and it was about a shade or so lighter than my tone so indeed these run pretty fair. The foundation itself is pretty brilliant. It reminds me of one of my favorite Tarte products which is the the Peaches and Cream Foundation. The formula feels like a whipped up mousse that’s extra creamy and blends oh so easily. They include a bronzer style full bushy brush to apply the foundation with which gives the finish an airbrushed effect, by the way, that brush, it’s probably worth the $50 alone. I love the flawless finish here but I also love the wear as it didn’t oxidize too quickly on me and I’m heading into hour five without a touch up.
This also includes a launch of Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Wear Powder Blush in Glisten which isn’t a shade currently available at Sephora. The shade is a cooler peach with a little glimmer to it. It reminds me of NARS Orgasm but feels a bit cooler and has a sweeter glow. The color is vibrant and has a glow-y finish that will give a healthy look to your cheeks. Wear time probably will get you through an entire day as I’ve already tried out a shade of the blush prior to this and got through an entire day with it on.
The Tarte Amazonian Clay Long Wear Eye Shadow Quad is probably my favorite piece in the collection. I only briefly skimmed the show this morning with Maureen as I was on my way out the door but it looks like the model’s on QVC were sporting a fairly different look than the one I did. They seemed to concentrate alot on the plum shade where as I went more with the warmer shades in the quad. Shades included all have a shimmer finish and include cocoa, bronze, sand, and plum. I used cocoa in my crease, bronze on my lid, sand as a highbrow highlighter, and a dash of the plum on the outer V. I wore the Tarte EmphasEyes Amazonian Clay Waterproof Eyeliner in Golden Plum on my waterline and surprisingly it goes very well. For some reason the plum of the liner and quad felt out of place with the rest of the shades but they actually add a little something to the completed look.
Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara is a solid performing mascara with a straight line plastic applicator that pulls lashes upwards and out. It doesn’t hold curl too well but it’s lightweight enough to build up for a more dramatic, fuller fringe of lashes.
Tarte Pureoptic Moisturizing Lip Gloss in Golden Pink is a sheer pale pink with a good deal of lovely shimmer. This has a minty fresh taste and a thicker formula that glides on easily and leaves behind a glossy finish. The formula has a shorter wear time, about three hours, but it wears comfortably light for such a thicker gloss and lacks a sticky, tacky feel. I’m hopeful Tarte will launch more of these as I really enjoyed the formula.
You’ll also get a full size purple makeup bag with the set. This is a roomy bag which can store a good deal of makeup. You’ll also get a generous sample of the new Tarte 100% Pure Cold Pressed Maracuja Oil from the Amazon.
Overall, the Tarte 8th World Wonder Best of The Amazon Clay Collection is probably one of the best sets I’ve seen to date from QVC this year in terms of quality and price. If you’re looking for makeup options to spruce your Spring wardrobe that will work well into Summer, this is the set for you.
Also highly recommend it to the budget shoppers out there as this is an ideal way to try out Tarte for the first time or to add to your Tarte Collection for a very small price tag, $6.80 per full time product is over a 75% savings on each item!
Seal in the auto delivery option so you can take advantage of two new seasonal color selections of this set as well!
The set is only available on auto ship and at this price for a few more hours you can purchase it at www.QVC.com
Needless to say, this one, obviously, is very Muse Approved for purchase!
