You NEED this: Caudalie Beauty Elixir Review

I hear Caudalie has a new eye cream! Caudalie Premier Cru The Eye Cream promises all sorts of bells and whistles to erase signs of aging and depuff these tired old eyes.

I think I needs some.

Any takers?

Speaking of Caudalie let me tell you about my latest obsession, Beauty Elixir, how in the world did I ever live without it?

You NEED this.

A beauty mist inspired by the “elixir of youth” used by Queen Isabelle of Hungary, this mist smoothes features, tightens pores and provides an instant burst of radiance to the complexion.

I’m an instant gratification kinda girl so when I buy a new skincare product I want to see instant results. You know how you take a picture with a Polaroid camera and proceed to pour over it waiting for the black slip of film paper to process and expose the image? That’s how I want my skincare to work. I want to use it and proceed to wait a few seconds to reveal glorious results, right away, right now, like yesterday, the day before yesterday even.

But…

Impatience is sadly not the way to go when it comes to skincare and in many cases you’ll have to wait around a while and religiously use the product before reaping the benefits.

Too slow for me that’s why I adore Caudalie Beauty Elixir, instant results you can see, right away! Like now people!

I’m completely dull. My skin is just majorly lackluster lately and it needs a wake up call anyway it can get it. Caudalie Beauty Elixir is a perfect solution as a quick mist and my cheeks start to glow again. This comes housed in a glass bottle with a fine mist sprayer. You can mist on after you clean your face and prior to applying your skincare. I use it in the evening prior to serum and moisturizer and in the AM at the start of my day prior to skincare and makeup. It has this invigorating mint scent that’s positively delightful. It’s hard to explain but to me it smells like a stick of spearmint gum but also has hints of herbal plants mixed in. I do believe my skin loves the mint as it wakes up my dullness and puts a glow back on my cheeks, instantly energizing my skin! It’s basically results I can see unlike other mists.

Sensitive skin be aware as the mint could prove too much. A quick mist produces a tingle on my face so I imagine this could prove worst for those with sensitive skin, test a spot prior to application all over your face.

Those with dry skin be aware as well since this does make my drier face feel a tad on the tight side but following up with moisturizer eases it easily.

  • Those who want instant results from their skincare.
  • Those with dull, lackluster skin that needs a boost.
  • Those who enjoy using a facial mist prior to their normal skincare regime (this is one of the better ones I’ve tried).

  • Those with sensitive skin (mint could prove irritating for some).
  • Those sensitive to fragrance in their skincare (This fragrance is positively addicting to my nose but some might find it too much).
  • Those with drier skin (follow up with moisturizer as this does have a tendency to make things a tad tight).

Overall, Caudalie Beauty Elixir proves an incredible little find. I absolutely adore this and can’t believe I haven’t tried it prior. The price tag is slightly up there at $46 but a 1oz mister is available at an affordable $16! Skincare that produces instant results is a rarity which is why this elixir proves a keeper!

Loves it!

I always hear good things about Caudalie, Are you supposed to use this after or inplace of a toner?

    • the Muse

either or cj ;-D you can tone first and than mist or just skip toner completely and mist ;D!

  • JCz

    Hi Muse!
I too love this mist. I’m not sure it does anything for me in terms of tightening, brightening, etc., but I love the way it feels. It’s so cool and refreshing, and doesn’t dry sticky, so I can mist it on over my makeup to set it.
Like you, I truly adore the smell! I can’t quite pinpoint it either, but you’re definitely right in that it has an herbal mint scent, not a strong sweet mint. And, I found that if you use it judiciously, the 1oz 16$ can last quite a while – this is the only size I’ve ever paid for!.

    • the Muse

hey jcz! I haven’t tried as a set but I love before my moisturizer not sure it brightens or tightens either but def makes my cheeks glow ;D they should make a perfume out of this, it smells good enough to eat! I haven’t seen the 1oz size in person but I imagine it’ll be plenty as a single mist is plenty for my face ;-D!

This sounds soooo refreshing – I think it would be awesome for summer! Could you keep it in the fridge and give yourself a cooling spritz?? 🙂 I had a sample of Caudalie eye cream before and loved it, but I can’t remember the name of it! Oh, and I emailed you back re: shortcake!!

    • the Muse

        • the Muse

no way I want to do it ;-D as a beauty favor to a friend ;-D! <3!

  • Mary the Muse Militant

I wouldn’t risk this as the mint fragrance might cause a volcano on my face but it sounds a great product.
You are not looking dull or lacklustre. Take off those black out glasses !
    You’re positively a firefly ! 🙂

  • Makedonka

Def. something to add to my wish list – I use and love their Gentle Buffing Cream; haven’t tried anything else but this will be my next item. 🙂
    Thanks for the review Muse!

This is an awesome elixir for toning but I like it just as much or more for setting makeup instead of powder if your skin feels dehyrdated. It’s also great for refreshing makeup or dealing with summer oiliness-overheated. And it’s good for clearing and preventing breakouts.

Perfume– Caudalie does make a perfume and I believe it’s the same scent as this (and most of their other products).

Caudalie prices make me sad but the products really are pretty fab (best eye cream out there) so it’s not waste esp since everything is pretty concentrated.

rose OMG I love you! just seen their fragrance mist, it must be MINE!

      • Rose

I love you too! That’s why I think you should send me all your tester products for further analysis. and play. 😉

I’ve been curious about the fragrance for awhile so you MUST tell how it is! I <3 the eye cream (that I nagged you into LOL), the beauty elixir, the CLEANSING WATER, vinoperfect stuff (clears up my impending wrinkles, brightens AND cleans up acne…) and I love the soap when I can get the mini bars (smells amazing and leaves skin nice but the full size bar is too bulky and a pain to use). Caudalie is my go to when my skin needs TLC and the smell is all fresh and spalike.

        • the Muse

haha rose all my products are belongz to u! ;-D ha I’m def trying to get all the reviews up ;-D I LOVE the smell!

          • Rose

            🙂

woot! *five minutes later covered in swatches head to toe*

            I <3 you Muse!

def– scent is amazing in this [s-word]
