Bare Escentuals Pure Transformation Night Treatment Review
The beauty world and possibly your dear old mum has spent the better part of your life preaching to you about not wearing your makeup to bed. But Bare Minerals now says it’s actually ok to wear your makeup to bed, their Pure Transformation Night Treatment is proof testimony to it!
Jump!
A concentrated powder formula that replenishes skin while you sleep so you’ll wake up to that famous bareMinerals luminous glow. It dramatically reduces the appearance of pores, evens skintone, and improves skin’s texture.
Leslie Blogett made a rather cute little statement when she premiered this on QVC. She said why can’t we look as wonderful as we do during the day when we go to sleep at night which is why she made the Bare Escentuals Pure Transformation Night Treatment in a tinted formula.
I thought it was rather a great little way to explain why this is a night treatment and available in various shades. Granted you can get it in transparent but it’s also available in light, medium, and tan versions.
What’s it do, who’s it for, is it ok to wear your makeup to bed at night?
This is an overnight mineral treatment which is made up of a concentrated powder to replenish your skin as your sleep. It’s formulated without parabens, sulfates, and other harmful ingredients and contains RareMinerals Activesoil Complex which represents a new generation of active minerals that supposedly accelerates cell turnover.
Those that used Pure Transformation Night Treatment seen less visible pores and fewer imperfections, an improvement in their skin texture, firmness, and more.
The product comes with a dense, flat top brush which stores right into the barrel of the powder so you can whip it out and quickly buff it on. I love the brush as it buffs product on beautifully well. I tried the medium shade and honestly it was not flattering in the least but hey who was going to see me? It’s a night treatment right?
I used it for close to three weeks religiously. I applied my normal skincare, allowed it to sink in, and as a final step, right before I was ready to go to bed, I’d apply this. Fair warning if Bare Escentual Foundations make you itchy, Pure Transformation follows the same path as it felt really itchy on my skin. Like dozens of ants racing under my skin itchy but I kept to it because I was really interested to see what sort of effects the powder would result in and since it was only a matter of being itchy and not actually breaking out, I was good to go.
On top of the itchiness the powder wears like a mask, which I find is the case with Bare Minerals anyway. Their foundations feel really heavy on me and this feels exactly the same way. On top of the heaviness it creeps into my dry skin making it look and feel even drier.
Three weeks later I see no difference in my skin sadly aside from several weeks of an uncomfortable night’s rest since this really does feel like you have makeup on. I thought I’d wake up to some sort of brilliant glow but sadly that wasn’t the case.
- Anyone who already uses and enjoys Bare Minerals foundation (you might love this if you’re already a fond fan of their foundation range).
- Those with oily skin (I feel like those with oily skin might see some results).
- Those expecting a glow come morning (I experienced no glow and if anything I felt like it made my skin look stressed out, tired, and even more dry than it already was).
- Those who find BE very itchy on their skin.
- Those who aren’t willing to bed down with a face full of makeup (it felt heavy to me and I knew I was wearing it).
Bare Escentuals Pure Transformation Night Treatment gets some really rave reviews across the board but sadly I’m not a lover or even a believer that this is going to keep my skin looking its best. If you’re dry already I’d avoid it! Overall, it just felt itchy and heavy with no visible results in the AM.
Not loving it sadly.
If you’ve used the older version of Bare Escentuals Pure Transformation Night Treatment this is simply repackaged but sports the same formula.
