Clarins Instant Smooth Line Correcting Concentrate Review

Clarins released their Instant Smooth Line Correcting Concentrate to mixed reviews this Spring. Those of you already using their Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch felt like this was just a glorified repackaged version of the product with a heftier price tag where as some of you felt the pen added on a new and unique way to apply the primer.

Have you tried either products?

Both?

Do share your view.

Here are my personal thoughts on it!

A portable version of Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch that can be applied directly onto lines for touch-ups throughout the day.

Well, you’re either going to love it or you’re going to hate it. I personally love it and find it very convenient.

Here’s the break down.

Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch is 0.50 oz and $32 where as Instant Smooth Line Correcting Concentrate is 0.09 at the same price.

Ouch.

The products are the same. There isn’t any different in terms of formula or ingredients that I know of with the new Instant Smooth Line Correcting Concentrate. It sports new packaging but remains virtually the same as Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch.

Now personally, I like it alot and I think many will agree that the pen design makes application easier plus is way more desirable over the pot design of Perfecting Touch. Perfecting Touch does come with a spatula for application but its always been an issue that it was in a jar where as now you have fantastic revamped packaging with the Line Corrector. The packaging for the most part is very much part of the appeal here.

The click style pen distributes just the right amount of product on the flexible applicator’s head which fits the contour of my eye beautifully (this is where I use instant smooth for the most part). The head of the applicator is a slanted design that’s made from a soft rubber which easily smooths on the formula and instantly erases finer lines (or temporarily fills them and blurs the look of these imperfections). For a long time I really didn’t like the feel of Perfecting Touch under my eyes however the Line Corrector seems to apply just the right amount of product under the delicate area of my eyes and corrects finer lines while offering a velvet-y finish for my concealer. The formula has enough slip that it actually aids my concealer to glide on easier while filling the problem areas so concealer lays on top of the finer liners without creasing into them.

Of course, you do not have to limit your use of Clarins Instant Smooth Line Correcting Concentrate to the eye area. Frown lines, lines on the sides of your face or nose, and even those on your forehead can be easily blurred away with the pen. It’s basically a richer, thicker primer that targets smaller areas and allows them to be easily filled.

I liked the pen alot as it allowed for precise work in smaller areas particularly my eye area where I concentrate the use of the product.

The price isn’t friendly but I feel like the packaging adds something wonderful to Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch and just makes the overall product perform to its potential.

  • Those with finer lines under their eyes that need fill or blurring.
  • Those with forehead lines or finer liners on their face.
  • Those who Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch but not its packaging (the pen design makes your fond favorite easier to use and bacteria free).

  • Those who love Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch but aren’t willing to downsize for the same price (Smooth Line Correcting Concentrate is smaller with the same price tag).

Overall, I really liked this and felt like it could potentially prove to be HG (holy grail) material but Clarins probably should shave a few dollars off the price to make it a bit more tempting for those who already using Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch. Anyone who feels like age is creeping up under their eyes really needs to check this one out as it performs wonderfully well at concealing those pesky, finer lines with ease.

Likey lots.

Just slightly wincing at the price tag but enjoying the packaging too much to care.
