Marc Jacobs Ginger Splash Review

Marc Jacobs has a new range of Splashes for Summer 2011. The splashes are inspired by a warm Summer day and the first cool, refreshing sip of a sweet cocktail.

I did a brief post about the Splashes recently and told you about the three limited edition scents that will be released with the collection!

I have on the Marc Jacobs Ginger Splash today here are some of my thoughts about it!

First off, I’d really love to discuss the ridiculously generous size. Each bottle is 10 oz in size, that’s a whooping amount of fragrance. Now the formula is an Eau de Toilette but I do find they have a great wear time with just the right amount of linger so don’t think you’re forsaking anything with an EDT because in this case you are not and you’ll get a nice lingering scent that can easily last through the day. Mind you a touch up now and again is nice but if you can’t afford to do so (since the bottle is too bulky to bring along with you) you’ll still notice at the end of a long day that faint whispers of the scent still remain on your skin!

Of course, the lighter formula is ideal for Summer since scent isn’t cloying or heavy just carefree and refreshing!

I’m not sure of my favorite of the three fragrance as of yet and I’ll reserve my judgment until I tried all three but I will say Ginger is shaping up pretty well!

First spritz gets a nice bite of ginger with a heavy dominate note of cognac oil. I do believe the cognac oil lends a bit of citrus to the smell because the scent does lean towards being very bright and sunny with sparkling lemon-y like note whispers. A touch of Gernaium Bourbon morphs the ginger and gives it a greener depth where as Sandalwood creates a warm melody.

The scent for the most part remains very citrusy and refreshing but it has something special in the mix that gives it a hint of spice which takes it to a new, unique level that’s a tad warmer.

Moral of the story?

If you like ’em refreshing and sparkling with just the right amount of spice, Ginger is for you!

Likey lots.

Very Muse Approved for purchase.

The Marc Jacob Splashes are always a welcome fragrance addition to my wardrobe not only because of the crazy value ($68 for 10 oz) but also because they are such a delightful sensory experience.

These Splashes are available for a limited time at www.Sephora.com and at Marc Jacobs Boutiques.

Hi! I was wondering if you’ve ever tried the Origins Essence fragrances, and how this one compares to it?
