Review: Obsessed with Clarins Beauty Flash Balm

Tired, dry skin…mmm I’m coming out of hibernation now kids and I don’t really love how my skin looks in the harsh light of Spring. I’m pretty dry, pretty dull, and pretty tired looking.

The seasons are changing so I really want to start getting my skin into Spring mode. It’s always a difficult time since it takes a hot second for my skin to adjust to the fact that it’s not freezing cold outside anymore and it really doesn’t need heavy duty moisturizers!

To eliminate fatigue and make my face appear rested, smooth, and brighter I reach for Clarins Beauty Flash Balm, because that’s just it, in a FLASH, it makes me look all kinds of fresh and well rested!

A lightweight balm that brightens, tightens, and gives your skin radiance in a super flash second!

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm is great for any number of different things…a facial mask, a primer, a mid-afternoon pick me up, a lightweight moisturizer….! This little tube multitasks as a ton of various things so it’s a must have for my beauty arsenal.

For the most part I like to use it after moisturizer and prior to primer. I allow my moisturizer to sink in while I dress and when I’m finally read to apply my makeup I smooth a little of this on, do my hair, and follow up with my makeup! The results? Brighter less dull skin, skin that looks radiant and happy and less tired, and smoother, hydrated skin!

The formula is a lightweight creamy texture which absorbs easily and has a light almost hand cream-like scent (I adore the scent, it’s fresh yet clean and has that European moisturizer smell going on, quite lovely!). Now it won’t feed my thirsty, dry skin but it does leave behind a dewy finish that combined with my normal moisturizer leaves my skin feeling fresh and smooth.

I think part of the appeal for me is the fact that it just makes my dull skin look considerably less drier and way more fresher and awake!

I’ve used it as a facial mask but I prefer it as a primer of sorts prior to moisturizer of course those with oily skin can use it as a lightweight moisturizer of sorts as well if they so please.

The scent is rather pleasing but if you’re sensitive to fragrance in your skincare you might want to take a little sniff prior to indulging.

  • Anyone looking for a lightweight moisturizer.
  • Those with dry skin in need of more moisture (follow up with this prior to makeup and you’ll get a smoother canvas for your foundations and bb creams).
  • Those with dry, tired, dull skin (this gives my skin a wide awake appearance and that extra boost it needs to kick start it into the land of the living!).

  • Those sensitive to fragrance in their skincare!

If your skin is need of a pick me up on the double, Clarins Beauty Flash Balm is for you!

Oddly this worked very well for me while I was in Macau. Now that I’m back in tropical Manila, it somehow started balling up on my face. Haven’t tried it again since 🙁 Anyway, I’m getting S&G Glow Job anyway, so I suppose I won’t have to try this again.

I am actually not crazy about this. I have combo/oily skin and I was using this in addition to a moisturizer. I think the combination of the two was too much for my skin.

I love all Clarins product !
You should try the doux polissant which really softly smoothes the skin without irritating it.
I also love Clarins lipsticks. *o*
And they have a really nice orangy lipstick in their collection as well. That’s the only orange/coral lipstick that suits me.

This is a cult classic, and never out of stock in my make up bag! I love it!

I’ve never tired this stuff as I thought it was for normal to oilier skin.
I’ll have to get a sample first. Can’t wait to try it now !

I love this too and everyone I know who has tried it does as well.

Ohhh so tempting! I liked Clarin’s eye balm so maybe I’ll give this a try soon.
I totally agree on the harsh light of spring especially since it magnifies dry flakes and makes me look even paler! What I found to work well for me is Lancome’s Absolue Premium Bx Absolute Replenishing Cream spf 15. It’s marketed for mature women but I find it cures my dry skin even better than my treasured La Mer (for daytime anyway)!! Its thick and creamy but never greasy and absorbs like a dream. I’m left with glowy even-toned and bouncy skin 😀 oh and I’m only 21 btw
