Chanel Les 4 Ombres Quadra Eye Shadow Palette Lilium Review, Swatches, Photos

I wasn’t thinking Spring when I originally saw the Chanel Quardra Eyeshadow Palette in Lilium for Summer 2011. All that green had me thinking Fall but than the combination of browns and greens had me at rebirth, renewal, Spring….

Jump!

The palette is made up of beige peach that can used to highlight with, a chartreuse green, a blackened forest green, and a taupe-y gray. The shades compliment each other very well and have a pigmented formula that blends easily with a fine silky finish and tiny bit of frost. Their suggestion is using the darker green on the outer v with the lighter applied on the inner eye area and the peach highlighting the brow area and finally the taupe on the bottom lash line.

I did have some minor issues seeing any contrast and definition from the two greens but this is probably a problem with my own skill as I always have problems with chartreuse-like shades for some odd reason. I actually could have gotten along without the shade completely since it’s not the most flattering shade on my brown eyes and I prefer richer greens so I’ll be skipping it in my next look and using the other three shades sans that lighter green!

The quad definitely gives me more of a Fall or Spring vibe but with a cooler shade of blush on cheeks and a pink lipstick you can easily get a tropical vibe from it a la the promo model’s look!

If you’re a fond fan of Chanel you’ll want to pick this one up particularly if you wear green and brown combos best.

Did you grab it?

The only color i like about this quad is the dark green, so i skipped it.

gawd cindy I need mimosa in my life even though I’m not a nail girl ;D!

I’m scared to try Chanel.. I am already addticted to their perfumes.. I don’t need to fall in love with their makeup!

Love it! I can’t wait for the launch in hungary 😀 (we get everything sooo much later, than you in the USA 🙁 )

I love that dark green!!! I passed on this but picked up Mimosa! Wearing it now!

I hauled this and the Bronze Corail palette. I also got a solid powder and 3 rouge Coco shines. Gotta say, I like but don’t love. For some weird reason I was so excited when I did this; I have never worn Chanel before. But quite honestly…nothing special. I have blue eyes and all the colors in this palette worked well. Here’s the shocker: I already had the Avon Fresh Cut Greens eyeshadow palette. And it’s way better!! I know, you think how is that possible? The Avon palette has less fallout, less of a frosty finish and for some strange reason, their greens make my navy blue eyes look crystal sea blue. Go figure. The powder makeup…it’s OK but no better than my Clinique or MAC. The Bronze Corail, same thing. The rouge Coco shines, nice color but very little staying power. Overall I’m not displeased but I probably won’t be buying into the Chanel hype any more. Pun intended.

I’m contemplating this. I have an appointment at my Chanel counter Monday for a birthday makeover I’m giving myself. I may have them use this on me — and if I like the way it looks, I may have to haul it.

Ah this looks beautiful! I can’t wait to snatch it…and the whole summer collex just looks great! (:

I swatched this and much to everyones amazement, skipped. I have a real been there done that vibe from it. The only color i like the the one in the bottom right. Good news for fall, the SA told me that fall is all about browns and bronzes and the usual fall yummy-ness

I got the green duo instead of this. Just something about it wasn’t doing it for me. I actually wore the duo today, and loved it.

The colours are gorgeous on you.
Have been checking the Chanel counters but nothing so far and that was last week. It must be here now !
I’ll be checking out the bronzing powder.
The US site says “moisturizing bronzing powder” but the UK one doesn’t use the word “moisturizing”.
Hmmm. I wonder if they have the same ingredients?

This is a beautiful palette. I haven’t purchased Chanel in years though. Since I have most of these shades and not much energy to spare I think I’m safe with this one. 😉

  • Reme

That’s a lovely combo for you Muse! Like JoElla though, I’m resisting Chanel make-up in case I get a severe case of ‘must have EVERYTHING’ haha!

The Chanel quads in Europe are not as appealing to me anyhow… They serve up round baked shadows here that have to be used wet to get a decent colour pay-off and I can’t be bothered with that faffing!

aw thanks reme <3! I actually like the baked euro quads ;-D they are more shimmery than ours ;D!
