For Those Hairy Situations: Bliss Poetic Waxing Wax Strips Body Poetic Waxing Wax Strips Face

Bliss has a new range of waxing strips for face and body for life’s hairy situations.

Bliss Poetic Waxing Wax Strips and Bliss Body Poetic Waxing Wax Strips Face aren’t really a new concept. If you head into your local drugstore you can find the same product with a way cheaper price tag but one does have to wonder, perhaps, Bliss’ version are better?

If you’ve never used a product like this before it’s pretty easy. It’s basically a selection of wax strips which you rub between your fingers to heat up. Peel the backing off the strip after you’ve warmed it for a few seconds and proceed to place it on your face, legs, etc…and rip off. Done! Easy, quick wax job!

Bliss offers two options for the strips one for your face and one for your legs, arms, etc….

Take a look!

Bliss Poetic Waxing Wax Strips Face $25
20 strips plus after care lotion.

Bliss Poetic Waxing Wax Strips Body $36
36 strips plus care lotion.

I’ve never tried the original Poetic Waxing Kit but a friend of mine raves it which is why I got curious about these strips….

But I will say that Sally Hansen does a similar kit with 42 strips and lotion for as little as $7 at drugstores.

Here’s to hoping Bliss’ version is superior eh?

What do you think?

I’ve found the Bliss strips less gooey than Nairobi, etc if that makes sense. They didn’t leave behind any taffy-like residue, or require multiple placing over the same spot

Granted, this was several years ago and I’m sure the formulas have improved by now, but I once tried a pre-waxed strip from Sally Hansen that you just rubbed with your hands to warm the wax and it totally ripped off a few layers of skin. Major ouch. Hopefully these are a lot better. I’m tempted to try the bliss ones but I’m still a bit scarred from my past experience lol Anyone try laser hair removal? Does that work/hurt?

    • the Muse

oh my gosh courtney how awful 🙁 laser hair removal does work but tedious process :-/

Yeah, apparently when it comes to self-waxing I need to stay far, far away. I once got the bright idea to try to wax my own eyebrows and I totally took half my left eyebrow off. Certain beauty tasks are best left to the professionals…

I’ve tried the Sally Hansen one and don’t like it, it doesn’t take everything off in one go. Parissa makes a good one, but I can’t find it in stores, online only.

    • the Muse

i haven’t tried the Parissa ones Christina, gotta check those out!

I’ll stick with sugaring tyvm! It’s cheap, you can make it at home, you don’t need strips, and it doesn’t hurt nearly as much as waxing 🙂

I use those Veet cold wax strips. They do the job in a pinch, but you seriously have to wipe your face down three, four times with the post-wax cloth. I’m not sure if $25 for wax strips is worth it though! Maybe when Friends and Family comes around, I might give ’em a go!

    • the Muse

resa I think I might wait on an FF too, I’m not feeling the $25 when I know there are cheaper options out there…but my other side is telling me that they are Bliss ;-D and bliss does waxing right..!

Courtney has put me right offthe wax strips !!
Although I was never really thinking about getting them as I’m a real chicken.
Easy way out is deplitory creams or a razor.
Waxing give me the shudders. Imagine Kim Kardashian has to regularly wax her forehead and temples along with the usual parts. BIG FAT OUCH !!!!

I find Parrissa at Ulta. I use the sensitive skin version. It works well if you trim the strips before use. I forgot once an lost a bit too much brow. One more caveat-don’t store in the bathroom or the wax may melt.

I thought the big draw to Bliss’s Wax Poetic kit was the blue wax (supposedly soothing to the skin) – or is there a different formula between that and the type of wax that goes on strips and doesn’t need to be microwaved?

    • the Muse

I’m not sure jc….they may have reformulated so it doesn’t have to be heated ;D!
