Fresh Sugar Honey Tinted Lip Treatment Review, Swatches, Photos
I has ear worm today!
I can’t stop listening to Joe Cheng sing, seriously, go ahead listen to it…once he gets to his Engrish part and starts in with the melody I’m gone…”I love what I love, I hate what I hate…”
At this part I’m done because not only is the song so totally cute but his Engrish makes me swoon.
Which brings me to my VERY favorite Engrish video of all time, the SS501 Engrish Lesson…there’s just something about cute Asian boys struggling with the English language that melts my heart.
Ahhh it’s the little stuff in life that makes me smile.
Anyway….now that we are done with our Engrish Lesson today have you checked on the new Fresh Sugar Honey Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15? It’s the 4th variation of Fresh’s very popular lip balm in a nude shade!
Let’s peep it shall we?
A warn nude lip balm from Fresh.
Currently, I am in debates whether the name “honey” refers to the shade of the balm or the actual flavor. As you may already know the balms normally have a sugary lemon flavor but this actually has a very slightly honey-ish (kinda perfume-like) taste with sugar and a hint of lemon. Don’t quote me, I have a bit of a cold and my taste buds aren’t spot on but I do believe the taste is utterly different from the other three balms I own from the brand and has a bit of a honey-ish thing going on here. I thought it deserved a mention since I really love the lemon sugar taste of the balm and was a little let down that I didn’t like this as much.
Aside from that I’d definitely add Fresh Sugar Honey Tinted Lip Treatment to your stash if you generally enjoy the balms they have done in the past and already own them or if you’re just looking for that my lips but better kinda look for Summer.
The shade is a warm dusky peachy rose with alot of brown in it. On my lips I get a warm shade of dusky peach but the shade will vary depending on how pigmented your lips are or aren’t. I think it could have proved nicer with a bit more pink and less brown.
Overall, it contains a nice dash of natural pigment that will enhance your natural lip color and sports a lightweight moisturizing formula. The formula is a traditional balm-y texture without alot of shine or gloss to the finish but just the right amount of moisture to make lips feel comfortably hydrated.
I’ve said it in the past and I’ll say it again I really love the screw top design of the packaging. The top twists on and off easily. I find this method is great as I don’t bump the balm against the top and take a chunk out of it because of a clumsy cap.
I SPF myself to death in the Summer but I honestly could care less about it on a lip product but for those who seek sun protection this does sport SPF 15.
Nothing to not love here unless you aren’t keen on dishing out $22.50 on a lip balm.
- Those who love Fresh’s Lip Balm Collection and always wished for a nude shade.
- Those who want a lightweight, moisturizing lip balm with a hint of color and sun protection.
- Those who aren’t keen on paying over $20 for a lip balm.
Overall, Fresh fans will love this one. The color should be universally flattering and it’s just what the collection needed as the other shades may be too bright or bold for some (rose and plum colors). This fits into a more natural finish and will be easily loved by those who like such a shade.
I liked it alot and thought it was fair superior than the Sugar Plum release which I personally disliked when it came out.
Anyone haul it?
It’s available now at Sephora.
