MAC Surf Baby SkinSheen Bronzer Stick Review, Swatches, Photos
Ahh the MAC Surf Baby SkinSheen Bronzer Sticks, like mud for your face!
Sorry…but these bad boys are way pigmented and if you’re not careful you’ll be looking all kinds like you were outside playing in the mud on a rainy day.
For shame!
That dirty look could prove sexy to some but on my fuller face it doesn’t quite sit right.
Let’s take a peep!
A cream bronzer in an easy to use twist up tube!
I think if you like NARS Multiples you might feel a little love for the SkinSheen Bronzer Sticks. Let me make it clear these are for the chicks that love the bronze look and I think they are best suited to skin with warmer undertones because they are pigmented as hell but don’t quote me as you might feel they work great to contour your face with or even as a dash of sun on fairer skin. Personally…I think they are way too deep for fair skin but don’t quote me.
They blend well but don’t expect to swirl the stick up and right onto your cheeks as that will distribute far too much color. You’ll want to build color up gradually so you might want to swatch the back of your arm and pick color up with a brush or dab your brush on the stick and pat it onto your face.
I will say compared to a NARS Multiple you’ll see longer wear time (that was my main beef with Multiples) and a better price tag ($29.50 versus $39) but of course color variety is limited to bronze-y shades.
There are three color variations available of the Skinsheen Bronzer Sticks, I tried two. Gilty Bronze is a dark, rich bronze with a high sheen finish and Tan Tint is a warm, rich tan with a matte finish.
The shades are more wearable if you use them as a base for a shade of peach or coral blush however not by much if you aren’t a bronzer girl.
The product works and that’s really all that matters in the long run however on a personal note I will say I’m not too keen on the shades, the high pigmentation, and the overall look and finish. On my medium fair skin it comes across very muddy.
- Those who favor bronzers!
- Those wanting a long wearing cream bronzer!
- Those who enjoy a flushed by the sun look.
- Those with fairer skin.
- Those who aren’t keen on bronzers, tanning, or a sunny look.
There’s absolutely no issues with the performance on these. They work and they work well particularly because they are so long wearing plus the formula is easy to use since it blends beautifully and leaves behind plenty of color pay off. Any issues I had with the product were personal preference problems as I simply think the colors are too muddy and not flattering in the least. Overall, if you like bronzing products you’ll want to snag these when they release with the MAC Surf Baby Collection later this month but if you’re not a lover of the sun…well, it’s a given you won’t like ’em!
