TokiDoki Prisma Gloss Set Review, Swatches, Photos

I couldn’t hold out long, I ended up hauling the TokiDoki Prisma Gloss Set!

The good news is the shade I have was devoured and I actually tossed it out, empty! I swear to the makeup Gods that the angels sung a little ditty for me when that happened. Seriously, how often does a makeup junkie actually toss an empty?

Rare!

To celebrate I grabbed up the five back TokiDoki Prisma Gloss that Sephora has priced at a very affordable $32 since these are all full size I had to have them!

Jump!

I’m not going to do a huge review on the gloss since I’ve already covered it in a prior post which you can see by clicking here.

What can I say? It’s not the best gloss in the world since the wear time absolutely sucks it hard but I really, really like it because it has such a super glossy finish, a tasty formula (sweet blueberry, very candy-like), and it makes everything I wear under it look awesome. The formula really adds a high sheen of shine to lipsticks, stains, and even other glosses!

I dunno how but it’s wormed it’s way onto my HG (holy grail) list rather quickly and I use it daily.

When Sephora introduced the five pack which contained five full sizes at $6.40 each ($32 for all 5) I was all over it like white on rice.

The set includes:

  • Donutella (sheer nude)
  • Ciao Ciao (sheer light pink)
  • Arlecchino (sheer fuchsia)
  • Diamante (sheer blue pink)
  • Adios (sheer purple)

The gloss lacks pigment, have crummy wear time, and could be deemed a tad immature due to the packaging but…

I love them anyway!

They are super shiny, super tasty, and it makes everything I wear under it POP!

Super set, you must get it.

Muse Approved for the value alone!

Anyone love Prisma Gloss?

Yay?

Nay?

Do share it!

The set is available now at www.Sephora.com

I thought the purple would be too much for me, but it’s actually very nice since it’s so sheer! Same with the other colors, I’ve got nude and brown gloss and when it’s pigmented it just looks so bad on me…if it’s sheer anyway then I’m cool with that!

    I also love that they aren’t shimmer/glitter-y, I am currently obsessed with just plain gloss without all that stuff (just got that Guerlain Terracotta gloss on Saturday omg it’s amaaaazing). Might actually get it, if it’s still around when I get around to it lol. If not it’s ok, I am not like “gotta have it” here xD;;

totally subtle pigment tammie they apply clear basically, that’s disappointing sadly since there are 5 in the pack…and it’s basically five clear glosses…but I like the formula so much I’m on board! I’m kinda into gel glosses that are transparent myself at the moment too ;-D! nothing too crazy just nice glossy, shine is sometimes nice!

      • Tammie

It’s good if you use it a lot, even though they all look the same on, not bad for 5! Although I am still on the fence about actually buying the set since I do like at least a bit of color, the Guerlain is very nice since although it’s sheer it has a nice “my lips but better” thing going on since it’s got some pigment at least. That’s my favorite effect with these sheer, non shimmery glosses. Sometimes I just want a fresh, natural look since I don’t like my lips plain, but I don’t want to wear lipstick all the time either.

OH and BTW I looooove that they come with the paddle applicator. I wish that’d catch on in America/Europe more, I have 2 Makemania Lip Silicone glosses and I love the paddle!!!

    • the Muse

sigh Tammie I couldn’t agree more. I love the Sony CP/Make Mania paddles. just about every Asian brand I know of embraces this applicator can’t understand why it doesn’t catch on in the Western market…! :-/

      • Tammie

Yeah :(. I don’t remember what it was a review of, but I was reading some reviews for something on Makeup Alley and people were whining about the paddles…maybe Americans etc. just aren’t ready for it? But I don’t see the problem, I figured it out just fine even the first time i used it, not to mention it’s more sanitary so you can wipe it, and just if you put it over lipstick so the color doesn’t mix in the gloss!! Also I like how you have better control over the amount…the list goes on and on lol.

wow insane tammie, spatulas rock for application! I agree they wipe off way easier!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Musebeliever

I’m not convinced. I’d rather haul a Nars gloss that is really pigmented.

  • Kelly

Hi muse! Love ur blog but can I just say I’m slight disappointed that you said you grabbed the glosses urself and then in the end it is a product provided by PR…

    • the Muse

      hiya kelly

I ordered the glosses during the 15% VIB, the note you see under the post has been changed, I have no reason to be dishonest about what I do and do not purchase on Musings. This was merely an error of placing the wrong line of code under the post to say it was “purchased” or it was “provided by PR”

It’s changed to reflect that I purchased the product. I’ve never gotten anything from TokiDoki to review on Musings from a PR company. Hope this helps.

there is a dior gloss with the twirly wand that sounds really similar to these. Any idea what i’m muttering about? is it similar? LOL

    • the Muse

dior gloss with a twirly wand…ummm lol not sure Melissa ;D!

      • Tammie Rubin

I have a dior gloss with the spinning applicator and it’s nothing like the paddle type. Its fuzzy like the doe foot but rounded. The paddle is hardish plastic.

  • Kay

TokiDoki makeup is so hard to get hold of in the UK! I have to look for it on eBay and it’s pretty limited what you can get for the most part. *weeps* These are so cute!

  • Kay

Oh, as if I checked eBay after I left that comment and they had this set on there! I am now a v. happy girl 😉

  • Brooke
