Too Faced Full Bloom Blush Review, Swatches, Photos

It’s about time Too Faced finally revamped its blush collection because it was kinda lacking dontcha think? Now I’m waiting on Urban Decay to attack their blush catalog because they have the potential to create some killer blushes in my opinion……!

It’s been a while since Too Faced had introduced a blush to their general catalog so I was quite happy to see the new Full Bloom Ultra Flush Powder Blushes for Summer 2011.

Let’s take a look!

This blooming blush that gives a burst of sheer and luminous color.

I’m always looking for the perfect shade of luminous blush but not one that will look too frosty, too glowy, or to sparkly. Sadly, the formula seems to be rare because I always come across great ones but they end up looking a bit too frosty or they have too much glow which makes my fuller face look terrible or they are loaded down with sparkle. Too Faced Full Bloom Blush nails the luminous formula down perfectly and created a beautiful blush that makes your face look bright, awake, and gives a glowing from within finish!

I picked up two of the three shades they have available. I admit I’m a bit rant-y they don’t have more colors to choose from. I got Who’s Your Poppy? and Sweet Pink. Sweet Pink is a really sheer true pink sheen and Who’s Your Poppy? is a close to NARS Orgasm shade of peachy pink.

I highly suggest grabbing up Who’s Your Poppy? if you either loved Orgasm or felt like Orgasm just didn’t look right on you. It’s a given you’ll love this shade if you like Orgasm as it’s a perfectly natural shade of peach with hints of pink. I think if you weren’t in love with Orgasm you might want to check this shade out as well since it has more pop to it and the formula proves looser and not as hard packed as the NARS blush which allows it to be built up easily for more color pay off. The shade gives a gorgeous glowing sheen and really lights up my face when I wear it. Although both blushes have a fair bit of sparkle in the mix it comes across as more of a subtle sheen that gives a very glow-y finish as if you’re lit from within….It’s a first kiss glow or one of excitement if you will!

The formula on the blushes is silky and blends very easily with a very good wear time. I rarely discuss wear time on powder blushes as it will vary depending on weather conditions, how you prepped, etc…but it does deserve to be mentioned these seem to have some great staying powder and I can get through a work day and into a night of play without having to worry about a touch up.

I will say….

Sweet Pink was an ickle disappointing and is very sheer. I tried building up with a kabuki and buffing color in but it still applied with very little color pay off so it might be best suited to those with very fair skin. I’d avoid it if you your medium fair, tanned, or olive…stick with Who’s Your Poppy? as that has quite decent sheer to medium pigmentation that builds easily.

  • Those who have wanted new blushes from Too Faced (these fit the bill perfectly).
  • Those who love shades like NARS Orgasm (Who’s Your Poppy? is a brilliant shade of peachy pink for Summer).
  • Those looking for a lightweight blush that gives your face a beautiful glow and wears long.

  • Those who want a variety of shades to choose from (with three shades available, these are sorely lacking variety).

Overall, Who’s Your Poppy? really won me over plus I really enjoyed the overall formula and performance on these. Although Sweet Pink proved very sheer I was still quite impressed with how long these wore, how easily they blended, and the beautiful glow they gave my face when I was wearing them. I do highly suggest swatching them and having a play your next trip to Sephora as the blushes proved quite good and deserved a Muse Approval for purchase!

I’m always looking for that perfect glow without looking too made up and Too Faced Full Bloom had the ability to not only make my face glow but also brightened it up and made me look more awake and fresh….exactly the kind of Summer blush that was needed in my beauty arsenal.

Likey lots!

Argh Muse, you are going to make me buy Who’s Your Poppy? now…I wanted it before but changed my mind as it looked small for $20 but I am so into pinky peach shades and have so few that it’s really calling to me :X

    • the Muse

hey tammie it’s gorg imho ;-D and the actual compact is small but product inside is 0.14 oz almost the same as their normal blush range (0.17oz) which had a bigger compact…but yeah not HUGE ;-D

      • Tammie

That’s good to hear, also at the time I wasn’t able to bring myself to spend that much on a blush, but now I’ve moved on from drugstore blushes (I have a ton) so I am ready for the next level and just bought Benefit Bella Bamba and Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Amused so I think I have gotten over the hump of paying more for blush since the Too Faced blush is cheaper than either of the 2 I got XD. I’ll def get it next time I am able, it’s my son’s birthday today so I have to be good to get him his birthday gift (he’s 2 so he won’t know it’s late lol).

        • the Muse

Tammie drugstore blushes are a nice budget pick but girl nothing like splurging on a good blush ;-D! Those are too fab choices, particularly Benefit BB, such a lovely blush ;-D! awww happy bday to your baby boy ;D!

          • Tammie

Yeah I love and use my drugstore blushes, but I am the kind of girl who love to splurge. I am glad I was able to experiment with drugstore blushes first though (I am a blush n00b), and very good ones at that (Milani baked and mineral blushes mostly, some PF). But yeah, there is nothing like a mid-range/high-end blush :). I love Bella Bamba btw, wearing it right now even!!

            Thanks 🙂

  • Amanda

Your swatch of Sweet Pink makes it look so pretty- like it has some shimmer in there too? Did you have to apply a ton of it to get it to show up on you like that (since you said it’s sheer)?

    • the Muse

yup Amanda 🙂 Described it in the review hun, hope it helps!?

  • Misato-san

hope those will hit Italy soon because I want to check them out a lot now! One of my absolute favourite blushes is La vie en rose and I really want to know if Too Faced made another must have for me!

    • the Muse

misato you’ll be very happy with Who’s Your Poppy if you loved La Vie En Rose as it’s the peach equivalent of the shade imho!

      • Misato-san

My wallet is scared by your statement. My heart is excited! ^_______^
I’m going to check Sephora tomorrow…

  • Bianca

I’m so happy you reviewed these! I picked up who’s your poppy @ ulta awile ago… They didn’t even have a space for them on the display yet. I was asking about another blush & the SA brought this out from the back. OMG I just love it so much! I had more than 500 points so I got $4 off! It has great staying power & pigmentation it’s also so smooth! After I apply it then kinda buff it up a lil more it gives such a beautiful golden sheen! I didn’t notice it until I saw a pic of myself, my cheeks were glowing! I love this way more than orgasm!!! I have the NARS trio w/ orgasm, albatross & laguna and orgasm hardly gets touched! I want to get the other one called cocoa rose next!

    • the Muse

hey Bianca ;-D brilliant hun! I’m so glad you’re loving this, I feel the exact same way. It makes my cheeks just glow!!!!!!!!! It’s such a gorgeous shade ;-D I think I might say I like it more than Orgasm too..but damn I love Orgasm so much too haha…! ;-D I haven’t seen cocoa rose yet…I purchased these two online and was wary of cocoa rose as it looked unflattering in the sephora swatch but I might check it out in person to see if it lives up to how fab Poppy was ;D!

      • Bianca

Yes you have to check out cocoa rose in person! It’s such a pretty neutral blush! It’s not a flat beige brown it has a lil mauve it in. The thing I loved about it was how smooth it was when I swatched it @ ulta! I have so much blush & I’ve only been using who’s your poppy, tarte amazonian clay in tipsy & clinique aglow also NARS laguna as a contour. I havn’t touched my MAC blushes in ages! I’ve found that I’m allergic to them!

        • the Muse

bianca thanks as I was a bit worried about it being muddy ;-D now I have a new lem! thanks! ;-D really? anything in particularly that’s making you have a reaction to them? that stinks as some of their LE ones are gorg!

          • Bianca

Someone told me that they contain mineral oil & that’s what was causing break outs? I was breaking out so bad on my cheeks like deep cystic acne! I’m almost 30 & i’ve never had acne before! Even in my teens I had nice skin! I stopped using MAC blushes & my skin has cleared up a bit but I have so many scars 🙁 I know the LE blushes are gorg! I love my stereo rose, by candlelight, mighty aphrodite & comfort but my skin hates them!

          • the Muse

no sure on mineral oil but I do think they contain bismuth (don’t quote me there)…that might be the problem Bianca…:( aww jeepers hun I’m so sorry to hear it 🙁

  • ribbonroses

Who’s your Poppy needs to come to Britain right now so I can get me some!!! Just seen on the Benefit UK facebook page that we won’t have cha cha tint for another month……. though maybe I should pop to my local store in case they have a tester……

    • the Muse

jeepers roses hope it gets there faster than a month! Poppy is brills ;-D

  • Alina

Thank you for the beautiful swatches. How close are these in color to the original brightening blushes?

    • the Muse

my pleasure alina! 🙂 I’m not sure as I don’t own any of them but I do recall swatching them years ago and they aren’t anything like these in formula if I recall right!

  • jonnie

Hmm, looks nice but maybe a lot like Tarina Tarantino Parasol…? What do you think on that comparison?

  • Bianca

I looked yup they have bismuth! I heard that it heard causes break outs too! Seems as most of the blushes on the market contain it? Anyway I picked up cocoa rose today! Can’t wait to try it on tomorrow 🙂

    • the Muse

bianca perhaps that’s what causes the irritation for you? bismuth hates me :D!

  • winni

I just bought Who’s Your Poppy and the Smoky Eye Palette online during that sale they just had. I picked them based on your reviews and I have to say that I love them both! Thanks Muse!

    • the Muse

aw yay winni! enjoy hun wear in health ;-D Poppy=AWESOME!
