You NEED this: L’Occitane en Provence Pivoine Flora Lipstick Fuchsia Review, Swatches, Photos

I’m feeling very French today, thank you very much L’Occitane en Provence Pivoine Flora Lipstick.

Now I need my petit ami, Benoit Magimel (circa A Single Girl because he’s looking all kinds of rough lately…) to come sit beside me and tell me how fabulous my lipstick looks!

Jump!

Four new shades of L’Occitane en Provence Lipstick released with their new Pivoine Flora Collection for Spring 2011.

It seems L’Occitaine created a lighter formula with the Pivoine Flora Lipstick as I already own a shade from the original release and it isn’t as a light. I’m absolutely in lust with these at the moment, it’s a you NEED this kinda of moment particularly if you love lighter lipsticks with a formula that glides on smoothly and leaves behind a shiny, glossy finish!

The lipsticks come housed in a gorgeous little cardboard tube, tre chic! I tried out the shade Fuchsia but no worries the other three shall be mine, already placed an order online for them!

The color is a shimmering shade of rosy pink. Don’t let the fuchsia name fool you as the color is a very pretty rosy pink without being too loud or bold. The formula is what really seals the deal here as it wears so comfortably with a weightless feel and a beautiful glossy, finish. The color has a sheer to medium pigmentation with softening Peony extract and a stronger floral flavor and scent. You can see the color on my lips by clicking here.

I thought the cooler rosy pink shade wouldn’t work for me but the color really adds a nice flush of color and I’m very partial to the glossy finish which makes it an ideal, lightweight lippie for the warm weather!

Nothing bad here…!

  • Those looking for a lightweight, glossy lipstick for Summer.
  • Those who wear minimal makeup (the weightless formula is ideal for those who prefer bare to minimal makeup looks).
  • Those who love chic little pieces of makeup!

  • Those sensitive to fragrance and/or flavored lip products (the strong floral smell and taste might not be a good pick for those sensitive to such).

I really liked this one alot. I thought it was improvement on the original lipstick I tried and felt like the formula was very suitable for the warm weather when I don’t want a heavy lipstick on my lips. The glossy formula glides on easily and leaves a pretty pop of color without every looking overly done or too bold and loud. Plus L’Occitane prices it at a very affordable $15!

Will it bag me Benoit Magimel? I can wish…!

I just bought this yesterday and love it! I really like the fact that it’s sheer, it would be way to in your face for my incredibly pale self if it wasn’t. I kind of want to go back and get cerise now too…

    • the Muse

brilliant elizabeth ;-D they are really lovely, kinda like a gloss/lipstick in one :D!

  • Nora

Muse, do you happen to know the ingredients for these lippies please?

  • Jes

  • Musebeliever

    Laissez les bons temps rouler!
(it kind of works with the French and the True Blood theme of the day.)
THe lippie is very pretty on you. You’re right it’s bright and crisp but doens’t look overdone. I would have to smell before buying since I have an aversion to certain fragrances.

Hi heart! AHH whenever you say “you NEED this”, I want to jump out of my chair and go get it!!! I’m def getting this as soon as I can walk over to the store!! I’ve never been inside the store, as it looks uber fancy and i get side tracked by other stores! I don’t usually like lipstick bc I think I accidentally ate some as a child. Ok, tomorrow. Ok, no. Tonight. I’m getting this! <3

I needed to follow up on this! I got the Fuschia and I really truly love this lipstick. I must have dumb lips bc ALL lipsticks w/ leave my lips super dry even if I do the chapstick step before it. And even worse the next day, my lips will be in pain from the dryness from the day before. I think if anyone has problems w/ lipsticks, this would be THE one to get. I’m definitely going back to get the darker color (I think it’s a red that could compliment all skin tones!) I love the formula, the color is awesome, and even if the color doesn’t last UBER long- I love reapplying it!!! You were right in saying :YOU NEED THIS!

yay kate so happy to hear it!!!!!! the formula is so shiny and lovely ;-D even on my dry lips ;-D I’m so happy you’re pleased!
