Clarins 50+ SPF Sunscreen For Face Wrinkle Control Cream Review

Welcome to the season of SPF.

Granted, you should be wearing SPF all year round no matter what. But SPF is most important in the Summer simply because you’ll be outside a heck of alot more now in this wonderful weather. And while you’re out and about you’ll want to protect your skin from the harmful rays of the sun.

Believe it or not but the sun can do some major damage to your skin including aging it well before its time. SPF protects your skin it does not prevent you from enjoying the sun and/or tanning if that’s your bag!

When choosing your SPF you’ll want something that protects your skin from UVA and UVB rays and you’ll also want something with a considerably higher protection if you’re not tanning goddes or you’re fairer of skin. A non-sticky, non-greasy formula is also a plus!

Clarins 50+ SPF Sunscreen For Face Wrinkle Control Cream is an anti-aging sunscreen that protects your skin while defending it against wrinkles and age spots.

A high level SPF that protects skin against the sun’s harmful rays as well as wrinkles and age spots.

Clarins offers a rather inexpensive way of protecting your skin this Summer with their new SPF as it’s priced at an affordable $30 for nearly 3 oz if you’re looking to go higher end with your protection.

It’s a high level SPF of 50 so it does protect skin against not only damage and aging but also sunburns and is also recommended to those sensitive to burning more quickly. Clarins uses it’s plant extract formula to protect skin against the appearance of premature signs of aging as well with this formula but for the most part it’s a high level SPF that should please those who want to keep themselves from tanning (me!) or for those who burn easily in the sun.

The formula is a richer, heavier SPF cream with a light fresh, floral fragrance. The fragrance is very Clarins and pretty however could prove a bit much for those sensitive to scented skincare. Although a typical SPF formula the cream absorbs easily and doesn’t leave my skin greasy or oily. I love how quickly it sinks in without making me look like you can fry bacon on my face…let’s face it some SPF’s are damn oily and greasy no matter how much they promise not be.

I’m a little sensitive to SPF and some tend to break me out in smaller pimples but I had no issues with this. I think part of its appeal was that it was nicely moisturizing on my dry skin and easily absorbed but I do think it could prove a tad too heavy for those with oily skin that are used to lighter SPF formulas. This did not leave a white cast on my skin either which was another plus.

If you prefer a more traditional, thicker SPF formula this is one to look at.

Those sensitive to fragrance might want to head to counter and take a little sniff or do a little patch test prior to indulging. I find the scent very pleasant compared to some SPF products which have that weird rubbery, old pool scent.

If you commonly use Asian SPF products this might be a bit too thick for you or those who prefer a more lighter formula.

  • Those with fairer skin who need to protect it against sunburn.
  • Those who want to protect their skin from aging and and the sun.
  • Those who desire a high level SPF from a higher end counter at an affordable price ($30 versus $39 and upwards from brands like Shiseido).
  • Those who want a formula that absorbs easily without leaving skin greasy or oily.

  • Those who like lighter formulas versus thicker, richer cream ones.
  • Those with very oily skin (the richer formula could prove a tad TOO much for oily skin).
  • Those with sensitivities to fragrance in their skincare.

I normally prefer various Japanese SPF products however if I’m going to trust anyone with my sun protection I’d definitely choose Clarins. This year, it seems like brands are taking SPF to new levels as normally they concentrate on a lower sun protection of 30 or so but I’m seeing more and more products with an SPF 50+ which is wonderful, it’s about time. I think Clarins 50+ SPF Sunscreen For Face Wrinkle Control Cream is quite an affordable pick compared to other higher end brands that offer the same at a higher price and a smaller size.

If you prefer a more traditional SPF that’s quite moisturizing for drier skin, I’d check this one out.

It’s available now on counter, at Sephora, and online at us.clarins.com

I really love Clairins but I wonder why they have to add so much fragrance? I will most likely try this when they have a gift with purchase on their website. They really do have great deals sometimes. I can’t live without their orange one step cleanser. It is amazing and a great scent.

I think it’s their claim to fame-all herbaly and plant-like derived beauty, so they want it to smell herbal. Some of their body mists are absolutely intolerable , although I do like the smell of their skincare

I think for a sunscreen it’s a very strong smell and as I am sensitive to strong smells I had to switch to another brand like la Roche pose..and I am loving it:)
