L’occitane en Provence Pivoine Flora Lip Shine Rose Review, Swatches, Photos

My go to nude lipgloss is Korres Nude 33, it’s my I wish I looked like Kim Kardashian but at least I have her rocking nude lip look. Mind you, I don’t LIKE nude lippies because they make me look like living dead girl. Hey, not that that’s a bad thing, zombies are people too ya know…but on me, fuller face, chubby cheeks, it isn’t rockin’!

However, after discovering Nude 33 suddenly the skies opened up, harp the Herald Angels sing, I could wear a nude lipgloss and rock it hardcore.

Up until now that’s about the only true nude lipgloss I really liked….but now L’occitane en Provence Pivoine Flora Lip Shine in Rose Ballerine is my new OMG you NEED this nude lipgloss of choice.

Check it!

A sparkling nude lipgloss that’s part of the new L’occitane en Provence Pivoine Flora.

This glistening shade of rosy beige isn’t terribly pigmented but it proves an ideal shade of nude in my opinion. Those with pigmented lips will find it comes across as a MLBB (my lips but better) shade of nude and those with paler lips will get a better color payoff of gorgeous rosy nude beige that, to me, is a universally flattering shade of natural!

The gloss has a lovely little lip brush which builds color onto lips beautifully. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate good lip brushes versus crummy sponge applicators that tend not to pick up color as nicely. The brush doesn’t have issues with splitting either when I place it back into the barrel.

The gloss formula is very lightweight and has a nice hydrating feel with a subtle shimmering, glossy finish. The gloss wears well even though it lacks any real tack or stick to keep it in place. Applied over lipstick it’ll last 4 hours at least and without it’ll last about 3 hours so not really a terribly bad wear time here compared to other glosses.

The formula is scented and flavored with Peony extract which supposedly softens lips. It feels nice on my lips but not sure if my lips feel terribly soft after use.

Overall, gloss formula is a win but the shade is really what caught and held my attention as it’s really a nice shade of rosy beige that looks very natural and pretty versus the rigor mortis has set in look that nude lippies give to me!

The floral fragrance and flavor might not appeal to sensitive makeup users.

  • Anyone who wants a nice nude lippie that doesn’t make them look zombified.
  • Anyone who wants a lipgloss shade that has a certain delicate, feminine look.
  • Those who can’t wear nude lipglosses (this one will make you a believer).

  • Those sensitive to fragrance.

Don’t get me wrong the formula here is rather great in my opinion as it’s lightweight, non sticky, and wears well without feeling heavy but it was the shade that really caught my eye and kept my attention. The color is just one of those great shades that makes wearing nude easy. I felt like Rose was an pretty, flirty little shade that really added something to my nude eye looks! A little stain under it really makes it pop as well!

I really liked this one and recommend it for purchase particularly if you love nudes or just can’t seem to pull them off so well (you’ll be hooked on nude lippies once you try this color).

Pretty! I dunno if I’ll be getting it or not but I got the Fuschia lipstick and I definitely want the darker one next. Forgot what it’s called though.
