Majolica Majorca Majolica Majoromantica F Fragrance Review
Majolica Majorca is a Japanese sub-brand by Shiseido. It’s one of my very favorite brands from Japan however in recent years I’ve kinda fell off the fan girl bandwagon since many of the releases haven’t really captured my eye.
During the Holidays, MJ released a new fragrance Majolica Majoromantica which I enjoyed very much and most recently with the Summer Collection they released a new limited edition version of the scent.
Let’s have a look!
Although MJ dubs this a perfume I find it’s more of a watered down fragrance oil. It comes in a gorgeous pink glass bottle that has a wand applicator and the traditional gold Majolica Majorca emblem on the topper (the brand always sports this detail on many of their makeup products). The scent has great throw and a very nice linger. The formula is a watery oil that you can apply using the wand dabber.
The original rendition of this contained notes of berry, citrus, rose, sandalwood and vanilla but for the Summer release MJ went a bit more sweeter and juicer.
Top notes of the fragrance start off with fruity strawberries, raspberry, apple, lemon, fig, and pomegranate. I get alot of strawberry and raspberry at first whiff with little playful catches of lemon and apple. The floral notes creep in slowly and you can start to get a mingle of the fruity sweet layers with the floral notes of rose, jasmine, sweet pea, and chamomile. The final dry down brings in vanilla and small hints of amber.
It’s not achingly sweet but it is quite fruity with delicate layers of flowery notes that intermingle beautifully with the sweetness of the fruit ones.
I loved the original Majoromantica but I’m going to go ahead and throw it out there and say that the F edition is actually even nicer!
If you like fruity, sweet fragrances this one is for you. It’s playful, girlish, and perfect for warm Summer days!
This is available exclusively in Japan but many online shops carry it for around $19-$25.
