mark Get Defensive Eye Cream with SPF 15 Review, Swatches, Photos

The new mark Get Defensive Eye Cream with SPF 15 probably isn’t going to change my eye cream life but it will be my pick for Summer wear thanks to the SPF 15 in the mix.

Is it me or can you list, on like one hand, the amount of good eye creams that contain SPF? It’s such an incredibly low number right?

Well, mark, you’re my new go to for protecting my eyes this Summer!

Check it!

A new eye cream from mark that contains Maqui Berry (a superfood antioxidant), Alfalfa Extract to boost collagen production and Licorice Root Extract to brighten skin, along with SPF 15 to protect delicate eye tissue from the sun’s harmful rays.

This is nice budget pick if you’re looking for a hydrating eye cream with SPF. Lord knows I SPF myself to death but I never really concentrate on my eyes as even my most expensive eye creams don’t have SPF in the mix. I do find understand this as adding SPF to moisturizers or eye creams simply changes the formula in a major way and mark’s Get Defensive Eye Cream is a perfect example of that.

This formula runs really thicker and very creamy. You can pretty much see at first swatch it definitely contains SPF due to its thickness and bright, white shade. Honestly, looking at it you might be reminded of small kids or surfers that sport a thick layer of sun protection on their noses.

I find the eye cream very moisturizing however it doesn’t absorb as easily as some of my other creams so I have to spend a little extra time patting it into place. It hydrates well enough and I’m pretty much happy with the SPF 15 overall and will continue to use this throughout the Summer as I don’t take SPF under my eyes nearly as serious as I do on my face and really I should, we all should.

Aside from the hydrating formula sadly it doesn’t seem to ease puffiness but it doesn’t promise this either so you won’t find me complaining over much about it but it would have been ace if it did!

The formula is pretty thick so a little extra leg work is needed to get it to absorb fully. It does leave a little bit of a whitish cast to skin but once you use concealer you won’t notice!

  • Anyone wanting a hydrating eye cream with SPF 15 that spends alot of time outside during the Summer.
  • Those wanting to protect the delicate eye area from the sun and anti-aging.
  • Those wanting an affordable eye cream with SPF.

  • Those who prefer lighter eye creams (this is a thicker formula).
  • Aging eyes (if you have finer lines, puffiness, darkness, etc…this might not be your go to solution for all these issues).

mark Get Defensive Eye Cream isn’t going to change my eye cream life but it will make it happier in the days I’m spending more time outdoors thanks to the added SPF 15. It’s not the best eye cream I’ve ever tried but it is invaluable thanks to the added SPF in the mix which many eyes cream do not contain. At this price, it’s well worth a haul for keeping eyes moist and protected during Summer outings!

This will be available from mark starting in July.

Any good recs for an eye cream with SPF?

Will you try mark’s version?

I’ve been using LaVanila SPF 40 face cream on my eyes and face. It doesn’t burn my eyes and works wonders. LOVE it.

Shiseido has one with a SPF in the 30s–you’ll need to use some sort of eye moisturization in addition to the Shiseido, but the Shiseido’s sun protecting aspects are so good you won’t mind–it’s like Extra Smooth designed for eyes. It’s called something like Shiseido Sun Cream for Eyes, been while since my budget could handle it so memory foggy.
Kiehl’s has an eye stick of about SPF 25-30 and they do from time to time eye creams and gels w/SPF, often listed in outdoor skin care need categories on their website.
Reviva Labs has a Vitamin E stick designed for lips and eyes with a SPF 15 for about four bucks.
Garnier has an eye cream w/SPF 15, but it sucks.

I use a bit of my Trader Joe’s Enrich SPF 15 on my eyes (the rest of my face gets SPF 50, but unlike TJ’s, which doesn’t sting, higher SPFs are like kryptonite for my poor eyes). I don’t understand why it isn’t a given that eye creams should have SPF. Aren’t we all worried about crows feet and other such wrinkles?

OMG I have been on the HUNT for a good eye cream with SPF, and this one just might do the trick. The only downside is that it does contain parabens (why are companies still putting those in their products?!).

I got this and find it pretty “meh”; I like that it has a reliable SPF and it’s not greasy, but it is a bit hard to blend in. I will use it thru the summer and into the fall but probably won’t repurchase.
