It originally released as a Nordstrom Exclusive but later became available at MAC stores and counters.
I really liked it which is saying something because I’m of the mentality that MAC excels at color but when it comes to the basics, like mascara, well, they stink!
Let’s take a look at the latest release of this mascara entitled MAC Opulash Optimum Black Mascara.
Well my idea of Hollywood glitz and glam for the new MAC Cine-matics Collection has gone out the window.
MAC Cine-matics Collection is the traditional MAC Nordstrom Exclusive Collection that will be released in July. The collection is sold exclusively at Nordstrom locations and I couldn’t help but think, “Gee, those who don’t have a Nordstrom store will be disappointed they have to order online…” but after seeing the collection I thought, “Gee, nothing here to be too disappointed about…”
The collection isn’t my personal bag and I sincerely believe MAC fans will feel an ickle disappointed as well. First off it seems like an economized collection as it lacks lipsticks, lipglasses, blushes, powders, etc…..it does include a range of duo shadows, lipstick bags, lip brush bags, and makeup lesson sets.
However, anyone who has been privy to MAC Nordstrom Exclusive Collections in the past will definitely feel like something is missing here. It’s been downsized in a major way…!
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts very soon (products can be pre-booked already in some cases).
I think of the Nordie’s Anniversary Sale as Christmas in July! It’s a great time to stock up on products that are available for a limited time, exclusively at Nordstrom stores.
Psstt…I have come to see these products available under different names in other locations in a few months time though, how ’bout you?
I’ll be sharing with you a sneak peek of some great products that will be available during the sale so sit back, grab your Nordie’s credit card, and start plotting that order.
Jump ahead to lay your eyes on the Nordstrom Exclusive Chanel Collection.
I wasn’t terribly impressed with the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Treatment Foundation when it released. The actual design of the product is interesting and I like the application method even though I can’t help but shudder over the bacteria that may be lurking in that little puff (Maybelline claims it’s treated with an anti-bacterial agent but I’m not convinced).
My main problem with the foundation was it felt greasy on my face and had a really long dry down time. It remained dewy to the touch hours after application. Some proclaimed it set fabulously with powder but I have drier skin so I normally avoid powder. Others proclaimed it a flawless finish and indeed, it did give a rather great overall finish but it was that greasy, slick, never drying formula that threw me for a curve ball.
Am I bias against drugstore foundation? Possibly but I really do think Age Rewind wasn’t all that fabulous a pick. What did you think if you tried it?
Maybelline gifts us with an early Fall release and extension on the Age Rewind idea with a new concealer. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer might be good…I’m kinda hyped here peeps. Age Rewind Foundation sucked it hard but maybe the concealer will prove brilliance on a stick.
I’m leaving for vacation shortly and I’m having a hard time say good-bye. It’s always tough leaving Musings, my baby, alone when I’m on holiday!
Sniff!
Plus I’ll miss each and every one of you while I’m away.
But until we meet again I hope you’ll have fun searching the archives and hopefully getting a long rest from my blather and babble. There are some fun giveaways that are ongoing at the moment as well! Hope you enter to win!
The biggest and bestest cyber hugs!
I’ll see you all very soon!
P.S. I have a very special surprise post coming your way that I’ve already scheduled…it’s a new and exciting TSV from QVC but my lips are sealed until the official launch. It’s scheduled to post while I’m away so I hope you enjoy it!
