You NEED this: Elizabeth Arden Makeup Blender Brush Review
This morning I broke out my Elizabeth Arden Makeup Blender Brush AGAIN. We has committed relationship and is going steady nowz! No but seriously, I normally commit to no face brush aside from my Bobbi Brown Blush Brush! I have no strings, no relationships with any one facial brush simply because I prefer applying my BB Cream (foundation) with my good old fingers!
But since getting an Elizabeth Arden Makeup Blender Brush in the mail a few weeks ago, well, I’m about to put a ring on it.
I love this thing!

A Blender Brush that makes applying liquid foundation easy and fool proof.
Elizabeth Arden had it’s Ceramide Ultra Lift and Firm Makeup release recently and so the Makeup Blender Brush was a powerful tool to be released along with this foundation as it’s ideal for cream and liquid use. The brush was created with a soft sponge application on a handle, yes, yes I admit it’s a glorified sponge but…but..it has a handle, a cool beauty blender style sponge, and, and…it’s firm!
Seriously, you won’t get the same results from a mere sponge in my opinion. The sponge tip design is a point diamond dome head somewhat like the popular Beauty Blender Sponge. It’s quite firm to the touch and fits the contour of the face very easily and naturally particularly hard to reach areas like around the eyes and nose. I like using this with my Holika Holika Aqua Petit Jelly or a softer BB Cream. I simply apply a bit of foundation to the sponge and I bounce it off my face softly and proceed to come back around and stroke the sponge along the same area I bounced on product to smooth it out and blend my BB Cream or foundation. The effect is a soft focused, flawless canvas for makeup. It produces a really nice airbrushed effect that’s virtually impossible to screw up.
Now you may already own the Beauty Blender Sponge but I prefer the Makeup Blender Brush over it as it seems to pick up far less product. I always feel like I’m piling on product with the Beauty Blender versus Elizabeth Arden’s version which gives light, even coverage without looking mask-like or overly done. I’m partial to lighter foundation since I don’t need a ton of it and this does just the trick at giving me lightweight flawless coverage. You can see the results of the brush combined with my Holika Holika base by clicking here (see how flawless and natural my coverage is in this photo?). Of course, the brush easily builds foundation up as well if you desire more coverage but it still manages to keep things very light while concealing problem areas, pores, etc…with a simple bouncing technique! If you want to skip the bouncing method you can simply sweep the brush downward and move inward and back down for the same effect!
The sponge tip can be easily submerged in water and washed off as well! Plus the $15 price tag is alot more affordable than indulging in the Beauty Blender which in my opinion isn’t nearly as good!
No bad here! Loves it!
- Those who apply makeup with a sponge (hey, take your sponge for an upgrade with this).
- Those who want an airbrushed, flawless makeup canvas.
- Those who have larger pores (this has a knack for filling problem areas easily with a few strokes).
- Those who want lightweight yet flawless coverage (I find this applies foundation/BB Creams in a lighter way but still remains fresh and flawless).
- Those who are heavy handed with base products (this allows a softer focus to base products without overdoing things).
- Those who like their fingers just fine!
Count me surprised that a simple sponge with a handle could do such wonderful things! It probably seems gimmicky but it actually works amazingly well. I’m a self confessed and confirmed finger girl when it comes to foundation/BB Cream application. I like my fingers, they blend well and do the job but I think the Elizabeth Arden Makeup Blender Brush may have just turned me on to a new and better way of applying my base!
The results are flawess!
Loves it!

I vote for a small version to use under my eyes with concealers! Maybe next season?
