Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Corrector

Dark Spot Correctors are really trending at the moment. Clinique broke ground with their Even Better Clinical Dark Spot Corrector and ever after we’ve seen correctors from every other brand and their mum’s too.

It was only a matter of time before the drugstore caught on to the rage and the first budget one is available now from Garnier.

Let’s take a little sneak peek at the Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Corrector.

Jump!

Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Corrector is $19.99 and will be available at drugstores. I’ve already seen it at CVS so be on the look out.

This is loaded with high levels of pure vitamin C which is an effective and gentle way to lighten hyper pigmentation and create a more even, smoother skin appearance.

This daily treatment helps to fade dark spots, acne marks, and age spots.

At first use skin appears brighter and without 4 to 8 weeks you’ll see darkness and spots fade in intensity.

I’m going to test it out and see how it works out so expect a review soonish!

What do you think?

Any dark spot correctors that are really working for you?

Want to try out Garnier’s version?

Today’s post is sponsored by Jang Geun-Suk’s crooked, sunshine-y, drunken stupor smile.

Le swoon!

I’m positive an angel gets it’s wings every time that boy grins all goofy-like! What’s that song? “When you’re smiling, the whole world is smiling with you…….!”

Can’t wait to find out if this works – got a couple of dark spots on my left side- too young for that but that’s my driving side, shootola….

  • Courtney

I’ve tried Clinique’s but it doesn’t seem to really do anything. I received a small sample of Caudile’s Vinoperfect Radiance Serum and it does seem to be working, slowly but surely.

    • the Muse

same here Court. They say you have to be patient and use it religiously and I have…but nothing.

      • Courtney

Yeah, honestly a $20 tube of Mederma works better. I do like Caudile’s stuff though. It’s kind of watery but there is a spot on my cheek that has gotten considerably lighter since I’ve been using it.

    • linda

garneir dark spot corrector work on my dark spots on my face! it took two weeks my spots have been their ten years and i have try everything this is the best !try it make sure you put sunblock use it twice a day!

      • Janet Smith

I have been using garnier dark spot corrector for over a month and have no improvement

        • Lynn

I used it for 2 months…2 tubes and had NO improvement either…so I am checking online for customer reviews for the best spot remover out there and will try the one with best reviews by actual customers. Good Luck to you too.

      • Cindy

Hi Linda i have small dark spots on my face which have been developed from the sun,do u think if i use this product it will remove them?how long did u use it?thanx

  • tee

i tried dozens of these stuff… none work so far sadly…

do share the result of this garnier one!

    • the Muse

same tee, been through a ton of whitening, brightening products ;-D some work but subtly. Curious about this ;D!

  • Tammie

Very interested in this, tried Clinique but it didn’t do anything… now I am spoiled by My Beauty Diary’s Black Pearl mask…I saw INSTANT results, but I still need a daily one so I am curious to see how this works for you 🙂

  • Cait

i could really use this (if it works, haha), but it seems like the main draw is the Vitamin C, and I’ve been religiously using the Tarte Maracuja oil, which is supposed to be full of Vitamin C, and don’t see too much of a difference. I wonder if the Garnier Vitamin C would really help at all in addition to it or if it would just be C overload haha

  • Christine

Can’t wait to hear about the results! If a drugstore formula works for lightening, I’ll be over the moon :D! I got results with Clinique, but very very subtle, and slow too. It just wasn’t worth the money for me. Here’s to hoping this will be a winner!

    • the Muse

christine I started to get antsy and gave up after a month and a half…le sigh!

  • Giselle

I have to agree with what others are saying, the Clinique one didn’t do squat for my skin. And after spending $50 on that, I’d love to find something more affordable that would give me results. Please let us know 😀

    • the Muse

mmm giselle same here, clinique has been proving disappointing :-/

    • Jinjoo

glad i read testimonies here coz i was about to invest on clinique for 50 bucks being desperate to have this dark spot on my right cheek and there’s one on the left that’s coming too, i bought this garnier the other day & have been using for just 3/4 days now but i’ll be back here if ever i obtained good results! i feel dark spots are really permanent but i hope not!

  • LK

I’m curious to try this product for my acne scars. Many high-end products doesn’t seem to work, so I wonder if a drugstore product can deliver results. It doesn’t hurt to try since it’s more affordable!

    • Lisa

Me too! I have been struggling with acne scars. I have been looking for something that will help.

  • Elle

    hahaha love the sponsor! 🙂

As for the product, I can’t wait for the review, but the price is Ouch! I guess not bad compared to Clinique’s counterpart though. Hopefully, we’ll be hearing rave reviews from you bc I would need this stuff fo sho!

    • the Muse

lol elle ;-d *bows* thank ye! so glad you enjoyed it. Now if I can only get a real sponsor like that ;-D!

  • Gabriella

Oh I’m going to reccomend this one to my grandma! She’s been asking what she should use for her sun spots on her face, and this is perfect, with a good price!

  • Rita

I have a lot of age spots on my whole body but the ones on my face and hands bother me the most. If this product works I’ll be surprised! I’ve tried alot of products in the past but didn’t notice much difference except for the fact that they dried my skin out. I’ll be very anxious to see if Garnier’s product actually does what it ways it will. Not a bad price either if it works!

  • shoegal

I’ve been using it for two weeks now………no big improvements yet, I have more freckles than dark spots so we shall see, I’ll come back in two weeks and let you folks know!

  • chaya

does anyone know if its oil-free??… i have no idea how to read the ingredients

  • PJ

Clinique worked great on me (dark to barely visible in 8 weeks) but not on my husband. Will get the Garnier for him to see.

  • Pam Liss

I really want to try this, but can’t find Garnier Skin Renew Dark Spot Corrector anywhere. My normal “drug store” is Target. Would love to get a tube of this. Ever since I hit 35, I’ve had these ugly spots on my driving side. UGH! Please help me sample this one too. I’ll happily be a test case. Have tried Aveeno and a few other dark spot correctors. None have worked yet. Don’t want to spend $45 for the more expensive department store brands.

  • ashley

does anyone know if this stuff is non comedogenic? I have really sensitive skin and I seem to be breaking out more since i started using it.. but I did recently move to the south and the humidity might be making me break out more too. Has anyone else started breaking out after using it?

    • Alicia

yes, it says non-comedogenic on the box. i just bought it yesterday in hopes that it will get rid of some of my acne scars on my cheeks. i used it last night, this morning, and tonight. i will say it makes my skin feel soft afterwards….but no results yet. in a few weeks i’ll update if i have any success. oh btw, Walgreens has it for $17.49….its $19.99 at most other drug stores.

    • Aime

I wasn’t so sure at 1st but lately I been getting cysts I never gotten before!. So Thats it for me going back to aveeno

  • susan

I’ve used some sample packets of Estee Lauder’s Idealist Skin tone corrector and I LOVE IT, it really truly works.. but i can’t afford to pay the full price bottle!! I’m going to try the garnier.. hopefully i see close results.. fingers crossed! 🙂

  • Rebekah

Just bought the garnier product tonight. I’m so hoping it works for my stubborn acne scars!!! So far I do know it smells delightful!

    • Yam

Does anyone know where can I get it? I can’t find it anywhere. The local CVS and Walgreens do not have it!!!

  • Kateland

Here is my story… About 3 months ago I was coming back from a business trip when the airlines forced me to throw out all of my hair and face product! SO in having to restock I decided to try a new face moisturizer that resulted in a terrible allergic reaction- leaving me w scars and dark marks. I got online to check out the reviews but no one here had really tried the garnier product yet. Its only been four days and I already have notice lightening of the spot and evening my skin tone. It leaves my face feeling moisturized with out being greasy or causing break outs. I am 23 and do still get the occasional pimple esp. when using moisturizers (yes Ashley ^ its non comedogenic) I realize that my marks are new! The product claims instantly to brighten and even skin, 4 weeks fading of spots and 8 to completely diminish. Obviously I have been pleasantly surprised by the speedy results. enough to get back on here and write this book about it 🙂 Hopefully the rest of you ladies who are using it get your results!

  • mary

i have a lot of acne scars and tried so many products to get rid of them. the only thing that has helped is dipping a q-tip in lemon juice and applying it to my skin. the older spots are getting better and the new ones seem to go away in just a week or so!

    • Regina

Fresh lemon juice or the lemon juice in the little
      Lemon shaped bottle

  • sherry

i have been usring the garnier dark spot remover for 6 weeks altho my complection looks brighter i really dont see any lighting of the sun/age spots..what so ever..i’m sad 🙁

  • Lily

I just started using the Garnier Dark Spot Corrector yesterday, and my face looks brighter the this morning. I use it with Clinique daily face protector with SPF 25.

  • donique

I have some dark spots on the side of my face that come from tiny ingrowing hair. I have bee struggleing with this for a while and I am now in the process of using a product called anthony that reduces tthe ingrowing hair that causes the marks and I’m now ready to find a product that will get rid of the marks that have been left behind. I’m so happy this product came out cause the expensive products scare me. I will try it this week and hope to seen get the rest of my confidence back.

  • Kayla

Hi ladies, I stumbled on this site a few weeks ago looking for a product and I came back hoping to see some good reviews. I’ve seen a couple so at Walmart today I found the Garnier for 1$14.97! I figured I could spare $15 to try to get rid of my acne scars, which my cheeks are COVERED in! Its so depressing. Anyway, I started using it today, so I will be back soon to let you know how it goes, but I wanted to let everyone know where I got it and how inexpensive it is.

  • callicat

Total waste of money. I have been using this product for over 10weeks. I have several dark spots on my face and nose and I have not seen any difference. I am almost finished with the tube so I will continue to use it, but I will not hold my breath for any changes.

  • claudia

I just started it tonight . I also used the Garnier ultimate cleanser then I put the dark spot corrector. I just was wondering do I have to put on the daily moisture lotion @ night as well??

  • claudia

well, I only used it for 4 days because it burned my face badly. I looked like I had a sunburn and then I started peeling , which is still peel I will not use this product ever!!! Im going back to my old re

  • Luis

I’ll give a guy’s 2 cent perspective. 🙂 I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks now and do find that it’s working but I have noticed an odd metallic smell after it’s on my skin. I’m assuming it’s because of the aluminum tube the product is in, instead of a plastic tubing. I like the light feel it has, as I have very oily skin, and I’ve tried other products that haven’t worked.

I would have preferred a non scented product, maybe Garnier will come out with a men’s version soon.

  • ashley

I have been using it for 6 weeks and i have dark skin and its working…. even my mom could see a dif in a weeks time lov this stuff ….

  • Regina

I have been using it for 4 weeks and have had no results. I feel I have wasted my hard earned money and I want a refund.

  • May Quigley

New product, am interested in learning more about it from user comments.

  • sylvia

I have used all kinds of skin lighteners and nothing works i have these dark spots above my upper lip and it bothers me so much. hope this stuff works any 1 have any tips?

    • Janeth

I also have that upper lip problem, it looks like if I have a mustache :0(

  • Nancy

have been using the garnier dark spot corrector for one entire tube now and have not seen one bit of difference.

  • Althea Hyde

Am I the only one who will admit ” the Emperor has no clothes on”? Garnier does squat for spots, even after faithful twice daily applications for months and months as directed. I am doing my part to help the economy by spending $20 to aid Garnier workers, although the product certainly didn’t work for me! :):)

  • Alex

I am 30 and have suffered with acne spots for years. I tried the garnier
Spot remover cream and it didn’t do anything. I used it as directed and nothing. I also tried loreals Youth code products that didn’t help..then I remembered a product I used many years ago that absolutely worked. Its a product by Murad that REALLY works! You can fnd it at ay Sephora store…I will tell you its a little more costly…it runs about $60 but if you compare it to all the money your spending on pitsroducts that don’t work…its worth every penny. I saw results in a week! And even better is if you try any Sephora product and you don’t like it, you can exchange it for any Sephora product of equal value even without a reciept!!! Good luck to all of you, I know and understand the embarressment these spots can cause because I have dealt with them for years> if I can prevent 1 person from wasting their hard earned money then my job is done 🙂

  • Lucy

I have horrible dark spots on my face. I am always looking and trying dark spot correctors. The latest one I have tried is the Garnier for Dark Spots. Don’t waste your money on this product. I have used it every night for two months and have seem absolutely no difference.

  • marquita

im just starting to use it today and i was told to use the dark spot overnight peel with it for the best results i hope they work cause im tired of these dark spots on my face

  • Kathy Bines

Well, I’m 54 and have a few dark spots or liver spots as known in the olden days. So I’m watching Dr. Oz and he claims garnier dark spot remover is the best and most effective product for this condition. I packed up my purse and headed to the drugstore, where I purchased not 1 but 2, tubes of this at 19.99 plus tax each. Being older I figured it would take a little longer to work so I used both tubes and WAS NOT IMPRESSED!!!!Now I don’t have $45.19 to spend on a product that did absolutely NOTHING! VERY DISAPPOINTED AM I!

    • Vicki

I went through two tubes of Garnier Dark Spot Remover. I used it faithfully, twice a day and never noticed any difference in my dark sun spots along the side of my face. It was very disappointing! Now I’m going to try the plain yogurt and see how that does.
