geoGirl Kewl (cool) Magic Face Refresher Review

Call me crazy, call me criminally insane…call me what you will but I am currently obsessed with geoGirl Kewl (cool) Magic Face Refresher. What is that so crazy?

Well, it’s kinda sorta a kiddie-tween makeup line.

Blush!

geoGirl is a new collection of cosmetics that has launched exclusively at Walmart to replace the old Mary Kate and Ashley Collection (Yes, I have Mary Kate and Ashley cosmetics laying around here, sue me, shiz happens when you’re obsessed with beauty! CLICK!) and was developed to appeal to 8-12 year old girls. The collection features packaging that is recyclable and is a fully developed line of cosmetics that features over 60 products that will be paraben-free and have natural ingredients like chamomile, lavender, white willow bark and calendula as well as pomegranate and green tea extracts.

As for me, well, I’m not 12 anymore, maybe not physically of course, but mentally I’m right about that age-group. Tack on a few more years. But I’m still obsessed with their Magic Face Refresher, proof positive you don’t have to be 12 years old to enjoy geoGirl.

Check it!

My makeup starts off great in the AM but as the day progresses I feel like my face is melting off particularly in the Summer. No matter how light I keep things I still feel like I’m wearing a mask and I start feeling a tad uncomfortable as the morning progresses into the afternoon and all I can take about is splashing cold water on my face. Obviously, I can’t do that will a face full of makeup.

Hooray for geoGirl Kewl (cool) Magic Face Refresher, a splash of cool, refreshing water on my face sans liquid! This tiny little tube (0.75 oz) is a makeup bag essential for me at the moment. Squeeze a small amount onto your fingers and smooth it onto your face…the effect? A cool, refreshing sensation that promises to control oil while making pores look smaller. Can’t speak about the pores (I don’t have larger pores) but I can say it’s like splashing cold water on my face. The creamy almost gel-like formula is a welcome treat on a warm hot day! It smooths on over makeup easily and absorbs in a flash leaving behind a cool, refreshed appearance. This contains rosemary and mint (it has a minty scent) plus a bit of Witch Hazel to calm and cool you down.

Loves it!

I like using it mid-day, around 2 in the afternoon, when I have that Wicked Witch of the West moment, “I’m melting…melting…” and it instantly brightens up my skin, refreshes it, and allows me to sigh in relief.

Verdict?

So cute, so handy!

Loves it.

Very Muse Approved for purchase.

I might be kiddie makeup but me likey lots.

Available for $5.98 (ickle expensive for this small amount but I don’t mind too much) at Walmart.

P.S. Sensitive skin be aware as the mint might prove a little irritating.

Check out geogirl.com which will be live soon and featuring the products from the new geoGirl Collection.

not all WalMarts carry GeoGirl, back when the line came out I discovered that only 1 of my nearby WalMarts carries it.

hmmm…does it leave a matte finish? wondering how that would be on my mid-day oilies?

    • the Muse

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm not really jilly…feels more soft and dewy on my skin not so much matte.

I actually picked this up the other day while I was at Walmart. I tried it one day when it was in the 90s and I felt like my face was melting and it really worked great. Like you, I now keep in in my purse for when I need that extra little pick me up.

Have you tried any of there other products? I also picked up their tinted moisturizer, but I haven’t had the chance to try it yet.

    • the Muse

I haven’t tried anything else yet Danielle and didn’t even know about the tms! cool! ;-D but I have some glosses and a concealer they sent, so gonna give that a world ;-D!

So, does this work over things such as tinted moisturizers or even foundation?

      • Vi

Wow! That completely baffles my mind hahaha. I have to check this out. Also, thanks for taking the time to reply! 😀

  • Peachy

Woaah! This sounds totally handy just for dealing with the heat in general! Totally need to find a Wal-mart to grab some!

  • Trish

This doesn’t mess up makeup at all?! Foundation, blush, the sort?? I totally wanna try this.

    • the Muse

nope trish! absorbs in a snap and doesn’t muck with make up already on!

  • Eve

I have terribly oily skin but I still wouldn’t mind trying this. I live in Texas and it currently gets up to 105 out with extreme humidity. Just have to wait for this to come to my Wal Mart!

  • tina

*smacks my head* duh! i totally skipped over that sentence! 😛
    thanks muse

How do you put it on over make up? it seems thick. Is patting it on fine as well?

  • Gotta say I really like this but too much or if your skin is on the drier side, I did see some residue left behind. For me, i only dab the oily areas or use over a bare oily face in the heat.

  • oxana124

How do you apply it over your makeup. I have only used something like a spray over makeup. I am afraid as I am rubbing this on, I will be rubbing the makeup underneath off.
