Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes Mascara

Lancome mascaras are a hit or miss for me sometimes but Hypnose Doll Lashes sounds interesting. I find it intriguing that I just saw an interview recently with Emma Watson where she was quoted as saying she really likes “the Twiggy look” right now and that’s exactly what this promo image is all about. Kismet? Or completely rehearsed? Either way Emma is rockin’ the Twiggy look hard particularly after she appeared on the Today sporting an amazing mod frock with full collar a la Mia Farrow Rosemary’s Baby! What an amazingly beautiful young lady she’s become!

Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes joins the Lancome mascara family this Fall.

Twiggy lashes shall me yours!

Lancome boasts this mascara is seven years in the making and delivers a doll-lash effect in two ways. A cone shaped, triple patented I-conic brush provides an extremely smooth application and defines even the hard-to-reach corner and lower lashes and the bristles offer ultimate separation, making it easy to layer without any clumping. The glide-on formula is enriched with nylon powders that sculpt and curl each lash for a voluminous, jet-black finish. A combination of hard and soft waxes volumize and curl while shaping polymers lengthen. The end result is a wide-eyed look!

Lancome Hypnôse Doll Lashes is now available exclusively at Dillards and Dillards.com but will be available September at other locations.

Rimmel’s new mascara, the Lash Accelerator Volume, has a VERY similar brush. I can’t stand it. lol

I’m disappointed. This isn’t what I think of Lancome. Hypnose doll lashes? Stupid name! And the ad doesn’t remind of Lancome at all. It’s so strange to me.

I’m such a sucker for packaging… look at those pretty roses! And the font! We’ll see about the actual product, though. I tried definicils and could not stand it. 🙁

Hmm….I became a fan of Lancome mascaras in college (many years ago…). Defincils is still one of my favorite mascaras. When Hypnose came out, I couldn’t wait to try it – and when I got it, I was horrified by the smell. I’m not sensitive to smells in cosmetics/skincare products, so it had to be pretty bad for me not to continue to use the product. It was so strong I could smell it after it had dried on my lashes! Unfortunate, because I liked the formula (not as much as Defincils). I’ll have to go to a local store & have a whiff before I try this version, lol!

Well, along with hiring Emma, I think they are trying to young-up and freshen their brand image. So, I don’t think the doll lashes idea is coming out of left field or anything. That said, I need this because I have been rockin’ the pixie for like 4 years ;D

That’s weird that someone thought Hypnose smelled so badly. I actually have it and like it a lot… it’s in my rotation of mascaras… along with Dior Iconic and Tarte’s LCL (courtesy of two ADs from QVC lol). But I don’t think it smells at all. I do always have problems with too much formula coming out in the beggining and making my lashes too wet and clumpy… but after the first couple uses I like it lots… and I’ve never noticed a smell. From any of them. I kinda think this ad seems a lil too gimmicky for me though and the design reminds me a lot of Kat Von D’s designs on her lipglosses.

I have it and it really does what it says: giving you feathery doll eyes lashes, nice.
But I am old-fashioned and all I want is volume! So I guess for me it’s back to my Hypnose. At least Doll Eyes is a lot better than the Drama, although both have a stronger smell, the Doll Eyes less than the Drama.

If you want more natural lashes, go for it, really a very nice mascara. Just do not expect a lot of volume.
Eyes opening, definitely, but I already have big eyes, do not need them bigger 😉

I love it! I just had a major New Year haul yesterday and this is one of the things I got. It makes me look like I have way more lashes, as the brush miraculously catches all the small tiny lashes at the side. I love it so much!

This is def one of my fav mascaras! The brush really does reach those side lashes and it NEVER clumps. I can put on five coats and it still won’t clump! It gives my short lashes the boost that they need while still managing to look gorgeously natural. LOVELOVELOVE!!!! 🙂
