MAC Semi-Precious Mineralize Skinfinish Semi Precious Rose Quartz Semi Precious Crystal Pink Review, Swatches, Photos

MAC Semi-Precious releases this week. I’m really hyped even though I already previewed the collection a few weeks ago and wasn’t particularly excited I’m still interested in the brushes as they look incredible.

I will tell you one thing that got me excited, The Mineralize Skinfinish in Rose Quartz.

It’s rocking my socks right off at the moment.

Check it!

MAC did a lovely job with Mineralize Skinfinishes in Semi-Precious but I’m bias as I’m a total freak for MSF. If you’re a glitter hater beware, proceed with caution as they have some heavy duty dosages of chunky glitter.

Mineralize Skinfinishes can be used to highlight with but in some cases they work as a blush as well or as a contour powder but the formulas are a mixed bag so you never really know what you’re getting until you’ve physically swatched the product as the finishes all vary from product to product.

In the case of Semi-Precious, MAC has done away with the marble design and replaced it with a solid shade of smooth glistening color and a heart of marble.

Semi Precious Rose Quartz is without a doubt my favorite of the four colors releasing. It’s a beautiful Rosy Pink with a heart of Silver, Lime, Lilac Pink, and Bronze. The center is loaded with a healthy dose of shimmer and I couldn’t help but wish I could get more of the Rosy Pink shade on my brush when applying. For the best results you have to swirl around the entire powder but this picks up a good deal of shimmer so keep from being too heavy handed during application. On me it acts as a blush but darker skin tones might find it’s best suited as a highlighter.

The other shade I checked out was Semi Precious Crystal Pink which has a bit of a misleading name due to its frosty beige pink base. The base is very beige however it has a hint of pink to it as well. The heart is a mix of pink, bronze, and a little hint of green. This shade has considerably less shimmer than Rose Quartz but it comes across very frosty on cheeks. I couldn’t use it as a blush due to the frost finish factor but it works great to highlight certain areas of the face.

When Semi-Precious releases later this week I imagine I’ll haul the other two MSF shades available as these seem pretty special to me particularly since I’m such a lover of these powders.

I’m wearing Rose Quartz in my photos above on my cheeks.

What do you think of the MSF releasing with Semi-Precious?

Will you haul them?

I haven’t gone over to the dark side yet, I mean bought any MAC. I know once I do, the levy will be breached…….These are so pretty and different than anything else out there…..grrrrrrr….I was tempted by the bloggers collection and the newer viva glam gaga, still haven’t hauled a single MAC thing yet, but my resolve is slowly fading.

Skipped them, I found them way too glittery on me. But such things are subjective. I love the MB from last years collection that everyone thought were a glitter bomb 😉

Great to hear you liked them 🙂
