A limited edition range of Tarina Tarantino Eye Cream Hypershadow in special edition packaging.
Tarina Tarantino released a range of her Hypershadows in special packaging a few seasons ago. These are available in five shades and are now discounted at Sephora for $10 each. I sadly paid full price when I hauled these and could kick myself now that they are on sale.
Electric Butterfly is a bright, fiery orange housed in neon orange case that features a very unusual slightly scary butterfly clown. The imagery kinda freaks me out but it’s so very Tarina! I love the compacts on these and find them very fun.
At $10 I’d say it’s well worth a haul. The color reminds me a bit of MAC Firespot however the formula isn’t nearly as nice…
The formula proves very, very pigmented however the texture of the shadow has a semi-matte, velvety feel which is quite nice swatched but proves difficult to blend out.
I find the shadow applies a bit patchy but works best when a sponge applicator is used. The color is quite intense and very rich. I even tried it out with a dampened sponge applicator and it comes across even richer. There are absolutely no issues with the color pay off here however the formula needs a little TLC during application in my humblest.
I’m definitely disappointed as I paid full price but I’ll throw it out there and say it’s pretty decent at $10 plus the shades wear well once in place without fading or creasing plus color remains very true throughout the day!
- Those who love bright shades of warm orange.
- Those who loved MAC Firespot.
- Those who enjoy cutely packaged makeup!
- Those looking for a great shade of orange to create a sunset eye look!
- Those who are impatient with shadow formulas that need a little extra care during application!
I admit I am slightly disappointed with the performance of the shadow but I’d probably rave it if I paid that sweet ten buck sale price. The color pay off is incredible on this shadow but it does need a little work to get on my lids correctly as I felt like it applied a tad on the patchy side and just didn’t want to corporate well when blending out. I wore it on its own in these photos but I do think its best suited by combining with older shades like a beautiful gold!
It’s ok but the rave reviews on Sephora had me scratching my head a little….perhaps those are from the peeps that paid $10!
