Are You Willing to Go $490 Far for Beauty? Guerlain Orchidee Imperiale Longevity Concentrate Thinks So!

Picture yourself dishing out near $500 for the new Guerlain Orchidée Impériale Longevity Concentrate.

Do you think you could go that far for beauty?

Guerlain Orchidée Impériale Longevity Concentrate uses the complete age-defying power of the Imperial Orchid Molecular Extract. This has unparalleled heights of performance in the new-generation serum”the Longevity Concentrate which is a formula that boasts both a record concentration and exceptional absorption by the skin this visibly fighting the signs of skin aging and diminishing them more quickly. It dramatically intensifies the skin’s dense and even firmness for a smoother, resurfaced look.

All this can be yours for $490.

Are you willing to go that far for beauty?

If I was a millionaire, sure, why not!

But sadly, I’m just a middle class American that can afford perhaps $100 for a serum but not 5 times that $100 dollars.

How about you?

If you knew it would work would you indulge?

Rather splurge on surgery or botox?

NO NO never again, heh. I got Givenchy’s Vax’in for Youth and it’s doing diddlysquat! And that was only $90. I’m more impressed with samples of $45 Anastasia brand anti-wrinkle serum (forget the exact name). I don’t think even a stellar sample of this would make me buy it as now I’m really skeptical… have you ever had a sample work for you and then shell out for the full-size and it did NOTHING?

    • the Muse

LOL yes that has happened to me a TON sarah ;-D they include a better quality of product in the samples so you’ll buy the big one :D!

If I’m spending $500 I’d better get instant results. $500 for a serum that probably takes weeks to work would not do it for me. I’d rather just look old and have $500 more in my pocket.

I can sell my car for this and I still wouldn’t have enough money 😀

The cost of this crap could keep me in stock of my skincare regiman (assorted products from MUAC, Neutrogena and Paula’s Choice) that I use right now, and that is working beautifully, for a few years.

If I used this I’m sure I would also end up with a new wrinkle or two that would result from the stress I would experience at the thought that I wasted almost $500 (plus tax!) on a small tube of whatever the latest new fad is.

A gentle cleanser, SPF, BHAs and consistent moisturization, baby. And maybe a $25 serum which is what I’m using now after switching from an $85 one (I just couldn’t justify the expense on my budget anymore, but that’s just me).

So, yeah, I will be passing this one by. 😉

Say you need to buy a new bottle every 3 months, thats 2000 a year, for that price you might aswell get yourself some plastic surgery or botox, probabaly get way better results that way.

  • LINDARRAGNAR

oh muse if you have been to Guerlains orchidee’s website the music and aesthetics are so perfect! Almost magical!!! I literally go to that website and just let the music play! anywise The price is very high but some people like spending lots of money! I tried out the imperiale cream at neiman marcus and meh its just a cream!!

For that kind of money my watch better be running backwards and my butt should lift itself like in the movie “Death Becomes Her”. Not to mention that I better see glitter & rainbows every time I look out my kitchen window.

People who can afford that go to the derm regularly and have an aesthetician on speed-dial…lol. Plus , anything that sounds “frenchy” seems silly. Orchidee’ indeed.

Pffftttt… $500 will buy me a lotta Retin A Micro – and I KNOW that works! May not be fancy, but I don’t wear the damn stuff around my neck – I just can’t see paying this kind of money for shiz that’s a cosmetic – otherwise it’d be regulated as a drug…

Im not a Guerlain skincare fan but I did get sucked into Chanel Sublimage in a simlar price range. The chanel product was stellar but I felt cheated by the lack of quality ingredients in it. I have a feeling this is the same idea: Lots of hype, a good quality product but not worth the bucks

  • Tala

jfc. I’d rather buy me some UD palettes with 500 smackers. Or buy 10 of everything in my current skincare regimen. >_>

  • Ruthless

It amazes me that anyone would pay for this, since moisturizers and serums only affect the TEXTURE of your skin, and there is NO moisturizer or serum in the world that will get rid of wrinkles if you already have them. Only botox and fillers can do that.

I don’t think the average person will be able to justify the expense, and rich people have dermatologists with the really good stuff.

Totally agree on the post by 8/15/11 15:05 Linda:

But to me, it will not be merely probably get way better results from plastic surgery or botox, it it a definite better results and more instantaneous rather have to wait for 2 to 3 weeks to see whether this stuff works. For the price of $490, thnk the only consolation in the end will be the product’s box and bottle.

Wow. I got suckered in when Guerlain first came out with the Orchidee line and bought the eye and face cream at the Epcot Guerlain store. I didn’t know at that point that for what I paid I could have had botox everywhere I needed it and look better!
Well, the jars were really pretty…..
