Must be my inner kid that gets tickled over color changing lipgloss. Shrug…! Sometimes I’m easily amused. Bath & Body Works Liplicious Wicked Witch’s Kiss is one of two new color changing glosses that they are releasing for Halloween.
I haven’t seen the nice version as of yet but I assume the difference between the two is one turns darker pink and the other lighter.
In the case of Wicked Witch’s Kiss it does indeed promise a dark shade of pink on lips. It starts off clear as you can see in my photos but the second swatch doesn’t actually do justice to the darker shade of pink it can get too. The gloss takes a minute or two but it slowly builds up to a brighter fuchsia that’s comparable to Smashbox O-Gloss. I’m actually not particularly keen on the shade it turns, it’s a little too far out their, how YOU doing pink for me but if you like O-Gloss you’ll love this plus hey, cheaper too right? I would have liked it better if it went plummy maybe…versus a brighter pink for the Nice Witch formula, that would have made more sense to me.
The gloss tube is a graduating plum shade and has a green and black witch’s hat on the tube. I like the packaging but than again I love anything and all things Halloween so that could be part of the appeal here.
The actual formula is a thick, sticky gloss that leaves behind a glossy finish. I’m always surprised that LipLicious Lipglosses don’t wear longer thanks to the tacky formula but sadly they wear away fairly quickly within a two hour or shorter span. The gloss has a raspberry, strawberry flavor going on, I can’t pin point the exact flavor but it’s very nice. The glosses are a tad expensive at $8 each but there is a Buy 2, Get 1 Free offer going on at the moment that makes the price a little more friendly.
Overall, Wicked Witch’s Kiss is a novel little lipgloss that fans of Smashbox O-Gloss will love or those of us that just simply adore all things Halloween, well, we’ll want this without a doubt.
Didn’t love the color here but the idea of the gloss and the packaging has my heart.
Available now at Bath and Body Works.
