Bath & Body Works Sinful Vanilla Body Lotion Review

Another day, another Bath and Body Works Halloween Body Lotion review.

Tired of ’em yet?

Not me…!

Hey, I was thinking….what if BBW starts doing these little themed body lotions for all the Holidays!? Like V-Day, Easter, etc…I can get on board with a marshmallow chick body lotion! Same goes for the Liplicious Lipglosses…

But than we’d have a whole shiz load of mini body lotions and lipglosses. Oh wait…that won’t be a problem since we already HAVE a load of them anyway.

Ha!

Sinful Vanilla Body Lotion is one of six new mini size lotions available now at Bath and Body Works for Halloween.

Check it!

Umm I didn’t like it.

At first it starts out creamy vanilla and in reality the notes are supposed to be vanilla bean, whipped marshmallow, and vanilla cream but there is something playing around in the background that makes me curl my nose up. I dunno what it is.

It’s almost as if you emptied out a bottle of Black Candy Apple, didn’t wash it out, and poured Sinful Vanilla inside. There’s this odd musky back note that gives the vanilla a bit of a darker edge. You might like it if you enjoy more musky, darker vanilla scents but I’m personally a lover of foody type vanillas which I was hopeful this would be….

Mmm not for me!

Loving the packaging though which is a blood red bottle (would LOVE if the lotion was that shade) and features a little gravestone.

Have you smelled it?

Did you get the odd back note?

Whatcha think?

Share it!

Available now at Bath and Body Works.

P.S. Here’s the first picture of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, so bloody weird!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I love foody vanilla scents too – not sure I’d like that one with a weird back note.

As for Anne Hathaway – pah! Michelle Pfeiffer was the BEST Catwoman. 😀

Hey Janet I was thinking mila kunis would rock catwoman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! she looks a bad bad girl ;-D I didn’t really love MP as catwoman but she was ok! Asia Argento would be another of my picks for the part ;-D

There is something odd with the smell…some sort of darker back note..I dunno what it is though!?

Mila Kunis as Catwoman? OMG, she’s my latest girl crush and she would have been amazing. Good call! If only. :\ I’m sorry, I don’t see Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, I just don’t.

Thanks for the good review, I’m like you, foodie vanilla all the way so I’m a tad relieved that I will save some money here, heh heh heh.

I actually like this one, but it was not what I expected. Those notes definitely leave you thinking it will be way foodier than it is. This reminds me spot-on of something else and I can’t for the life of me remember what it is. I want to say either another B&BW limited or a popular perfume.

Either way, do like, not what I expected.

luna ahhh good. I thought I was going crazy for a sec there. It’s like a light hint of midnight pomegranate maybe?! I dunno something odd in the background.

  • Carrie

Thanks for the review! Now I know that I can safely pass on this one, since I am more of a foodie vanilla girl myself.

  • Gabriella

I thought I was going to love this but when I tested it out in store…….Mhhhh, not so much!!! I thought it was a nice smell at first but after a minute on my hands the scent changed and was gross. I got a really plastic-like smell. Blah. I’ll stick with warm vanilla sugar for my vanilla lotion fix!

I LOVE THIS ONE SO MUCH. Reminds me a lot of a smoky version of the discontinued Vanilla Noir (my favorite). Those dark vanillas make me howl at the moon.

Vanillas are so dang hard for companies to pull off, many many times I have sniffed and left it on the shelf with these types of products.

The mere mention of Midnight Pom turned me off right them and there.

I may give it a sniff next weekend (BBW is having another in store event on the 14th YAY!) but it sounds like only sniffing I will do with this.

The girls on qvc philosophy girls forum will be bummed about how wonky this is.. they were pretty excited about this one.

I also smelled this one, too, and didn’t like it. I thought I was going to get a Vanilla Noel kind of smell, but instead I got that! All of the scents I hated, also, which I was really surprised about. I wanted to like all of them, but I didn’t. I think I might go back in and smell all of them, though!

  • Kayla

The darker back note actually sounds perfect, for my tastes :] I’ll definitely have to scoop this one up! I wish they offered the full size, though. Oh well!

  • Melissa

I love vanilla scents and miss the old recipe for warm vanilla sugar. I’m not crazy, they changed it! 😉 In any event, I bought the special 3 bottles of Sinful Vanilla for $5 this weekend.

There is definitely a back note that adds a darker, perfumey edge. There is still the sweetness of vanilla, but with my chemistry the deep perfumey piece hits after the dry down. Sadly, I’m getting an onion-y note as the morning progresses. Bah, my chemistry!!
