Clean & Clear Fruit Infusions Hydrating Cleanser Review

As you know Clean & Clear has three brand new cleansers out at the moment which they have dubbed Fruit Infusions. I reviewed one already for you which revitalizes dull skin with Pomegranate.

Today, I’ll be reviewing the Clean & Clear Fruit Infusions Hydrating Cleanser with Pineapple that’s meant for drier skin. Perfect for me as my skin is quite dry.

Let’s take a look!

A cleanser for re-hydrating skin infused with pineapple and coconut!

Although these cleansers are meant to appeal to students heading back to school you might wanna grab the Clean & Clear Fruit Infusions Hydrating Cleanser for use right now as the scent kinda reminds me of a pina colada, very Summer-y!

The formula is supposedly infused with pineapple, coconut, and acai plus real strawberry seeds are added in for gentle exfoliation although I did express in my prior review some doubt that they are actually really strawberry seeds, but hey, who knows?

As I mentioned above this has a delightful pineapple and coconut scent that’s quite lovely although like the Pomegranate version the scent does go ever so slightly dish liquid smelling but nothing that’s easy to detect unless you’re super sensitive. The formula is a bit runnier and creamier than the Pom version and has a nice hydrating feel on my face as I wash. I use this in conjunction with my Clarisonic in the morning and it does a nice job of cleaning my face up and easing dullness.

However….

I wouldn’t use it for removing hardcore makeup. I normally save “fun” cleansers like this for morning use when my face is pretty much already clean.

Although it feels hydrating it does leave my face an ickle tight after use so following up with moisturizer after use is essential.

The scent might not be for those that are sensitive to fragrance in their skincare and might even cause a break out or two so be aware prior to use!

  • Those looking for a basic cleanser for use in the AM.
  • Anyone looking for a budget friendly cleanser for getting skin squeaky clean.

  • Anyone looking for something to remove makeup at the end of the day (I’d personally reserve this for AM use but not necessarily a great pick for makeup removal).
  • Those sensitive to fragrance in their skincare.
  • Those who aren’t keen on parabens in their skincare.

I find it a touch ironic that these are supposed to be infused with fruit and antioxidants but also contain parabens. Although it smells nice and does a basic job of cleaning up my skin I’m not really all that impressed on a whole. If you’re ok with parabens and just looking for a basic cleanser this might be a nice pick but don’t expect too hydrating experience here as it does leave a little tightness behind.

Ok, but nothing super great raving about here.

Available now in drugstores.

Hey Muse! Thanks for including a note about the whole parabens thing in this review. Do you think you would consider putting an ingredients list in your reviews? I’m kind of on a whole “no more parabens” kick and slowly phasing out cosmetics that contain questionable chemicals, and that would be a huge help in your reviews!

    • the Muse

hi julianne I’m not really an expect on ingredients so I don’t really include them in reviews. If it contains parabens I do occasionally mention it since it’s something alot of folks want to avoid. I hope this helps a little..!

      • Julianne

Eh, no worries, it’s understandable! Just the mention of it is enough for me! Keep up the awesome work 😀

          • Nora

I agree with Julianne and think I may’ve also sent you a similar note once. Perhaps just a quick picture of the back of the box on things, similar to what Temptalia is doing. Those pics have saved me numerous times already when I spot offending ingredients. Just a thought. Thanks for your hard work!

10 years out of high school and still Clean & Clear’s marketing gets me, too! Somehow they made washing your face look perky and fun lol!

  • Cj

Grr! I still can’t find these anywhere! I guess I’m gonna have to order it online. Out of this one and the pom one which do you like more??

      • Cj

I checked em last week and they didn’t have them 🙁 I might go and check again today.

          • Cj

Hey Muse! I just got out of target lol They had em! I got the pom one 😀 can’t wait to try tomorrow!

          • the Muse

wahooo brilliant cj! update me when you tried ;-D!

          • Cj

Morning Muse! I’ve been using the pom cleanser for a couple days now and I really like it, maybe even more than the brightening one. I like the scent a lot more, but it isn’t as strong as the brightening’s one. Does that make sense lol? Also I think it has less seeds/beads than the brightening one too which is a plus lol

          • the Muse

yay! so happy to hear you likey cj! ;-D No totally made sense ;-D and you’re right! AMEN! def agreed, alot less beads ;-D!

    • deanna

  • SusanT

Since it’s for drier skin, and I have a $1.00 off coupon, I think this is something I’d like, even though I’ve just fallen in love with Lush’s Angels on Bare Skin cleanser. Like you said, better to use when your skin is cleaner, not for heavy makeup removal.

  • kimkats

Mmmm… this is the one I was after! Is the scent heavier on pineapple or coconut? Somewhere i have a coupon for a buck off of C&C cleanser, so I think I’ll pick this one up to get me thru the rest of the summer when I’m a skosh oilier – prolly too drying come colder weather but sounds delish right now when we’re in an excessive heat warning! bleah…

Thanks Muse – this sounds nice!

    • the Muse

more pineapple kim! ;-D tell me ’bout it. new york has been so soup-y the last few days ugh yak! winter come quick!

    • the Muse

thanks susan! CJ is a guy ;-D hehe!

Ulta has some online as well but than you’ll prob spend so much more to get the free shipping lol!

  • Jennifer

Im using the same cleanser right now. So far no reaction to any of the ingredients. I have very dry skin and I didn’t get any tightness or dryness that ia get from most cleansers. For the price its a win! But still my favorite cleanser is Shiseido!!

  • Jessica

I just started using the clean and clear fruit infusions on August 8, 2011, I instantly fell in love with it. I don’t think it matters when you use it. I use mine at night before I go to bed. It was like getting a facial at a spa. I’m using the pineapple Coconut. I can’t wait to try the other two flavors. The pineapple Coconut infusion makes me think of the beach. It smells awesome. I hope they keep this on the market forever!

  • Vanity

Ugh …won’t be using this anymore. Since I started using the pineapple version, my face has been breaking out around my chin area. I rarely get pimples & now everytime I turn around out pops another pimple. Ugh.. Back to Neutrogena grapefruit acne wash I go! Toodles 🙂

  • Adah

My face is normal type skin . Is it this product suit me ? Btw what is your favourite cleanser ? Hope you reply .

    • Madison ❤️

Yes, this would be perfect for normal skin. I have normal skin too & use this and it’s amazing. Smells nice, keeps skin clear and such a cute bottle!! So yeah, I think u should totally try it!! :))))

I used this religiously back in 2015 when I was in my second semester of junior year in High school. I loved it so much and it kept my skin clear and then they stopped selling ALL of them because I believe people were having allergic reactions due to the fruit. I remember it being a huge uproar of people complaining mostly about the pineapple one and I was distraught when they stopped selling them. I switched over to the yellow brightening morning burst one soon after that and I fell in love with that one. I loved this one because of the creamy texture it had and how it smelled.
