Ellie Saab Le Parfum Review
When it comes to fragrances my tastes run a little immature. I like sweet, playful, but never sophisticated.
Sometimes…
My inner kid demands a break and that’s when my more mature fragrances from Annick Goutal, Thierry Mugler, etc…come out to play!
My current big girl fragrance of choice? The debut fragrance from Elie Saab.

Couturier, Ellie Saab, reveals his first fragrance for Women this Fall, simply entitled, “Ellie Saab”. Ellie Saab la Parfum was created by master perfumer Francis Kurkdijan and is a floral, solar, woody theme.
For me, this fragrance is an ode to sophisticated beauty. The fragrance opens up with a playful blend of orange blossoms adding a soft floral note and breezy Mediterranean petals kissing the background with a full jasmine heart to enrich the blend and give it its fuller floral body. Patchouli adds dept and mystery to the heavier floral notes. While I’m not normally a fan of Patchouli I dare admit that the note really boasts the fragrance up and mellows out the florals creating a rich, warm scent. The blend ends with a white flower bouquet and a cedar woody accord and hints of rose honey. My nose fails to detect the rose honey but in brief the scent comes at you with delicate flower layers beefed up with richness and warmth thanks to added kiss of Patchouli and finally dries down to a warm, rich, mysterious floral that’s offers a worldly finish.
Ellie Saab dreamed of the glass bottle with its pure shape that played on light and brilliance. He proclaims he wanted something simple, with straight lines, in the shape of a cube, an object made to be held in your hand but still reflecting simple beauty. Thus the simple yet elegance cube shape of the glass the fragrance is packaged in was born.
I’m all about playful and sweet but if it’s something more serious in the fragrance world you desire, something beseeching warmth, richness, and beauty, Ellie Saab Le Parfum delivers it.
Ellie Saab Parfum will be available in September from Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Saks, and Bloomingdales with a complete layering range of not only perfume but body cream, lotion and shower gel.
Do stop by your local counter for a sniff. I think you’ll love it as much as I do.
