Neutrogena Eye Makeup Remover Lotion Review

Neutrogena offers a new and exciting way to remove your eye makeup with their Eye Makeup Remover Lotion. I have really dry eyes and I prefer using an oil based remover but I’m always tempted by something more hydrating or a product that allows me to easily remove eye makeup sans tugging.

Neutrogena Eye Makeup Remover Lotion promises a hydrating formula that’s safe enough for sensitive eyes but still manages to remove waterproof makeup.

Does it work?

P.S. Here’s Misha in a skirt, sometimes you need a little something to jump start your Monday morning.

A lotion that gently removes eye makeup.

Neutrogena Eye Makeup Remover Lotion is a gel-like cream lotion has a runny formula with a refreshing scent. The product is meant to be squeezed onto a cotton pad, swiped over eyes, massaged gently, and removed with a clean cotton pad.

It has a cool, refreshing feel when I press it to my eyes and I experience no stinging or burning sensation. It’s quite gentle on my eyes and it does indeed remove eye makeup quickly and effectively even waterproof mascara. Personally I’d try it if you like to remove your eye makeup with lotions however, if you’re like me, and prefer an oil based remover this might not be your bag.

One of the great parts of the remover is the fact that it leaves behind a gently moisturized eye area. This is particularly great for those who have drier under eyes.

There isn’t anything at all wrong with it but I do feel like I am…

Running through it awful fast as I feel like I need to use quite a large amount of product to get all my eye makeup off. This isn’t a major issue since I notice a tube will last me about the same time as a liquid remover anyway however, I also don’t love the swiping on and swiping off method which involves more tugging than normal with a liquid remover.

  • Those who already use lotions or cold creams to remove eye makeup.
  • Those wanting a gentle, effective way to remove eye makeup (even waterproof eye makeup).
  • Those with dry eyes (the formula has a cool, hydrating feel that gently moisturizers skin).

  • Those who prefer liquid removers.
  • Those not wanting to massage or tug around the delicate skin of their eyes.

Neutrogena Eye Makeup Remover Lotion works at removing eye makeup easily. I was skeptical at first since removers of this kind normally end up doing a poor job of getting eye makeup off particularly mascara however this actually swipes it off easily however I did feel like I was going at my eye area a little too hard during the removal process. I really try to love lotion type removers but I’m more of a liquid girl in the end. It’s just a matter of preference here so you’ll either really love this or really just want to go back to your bi-phase remover, in my case it’s back to the liquid!

Available now in drugstores.

I have very sensitive eyes and this irratated them as well as the neutrogena wipes. Just wanted to let you know in case you have readers that have the same kind of issue with their eyes.

I wonder how this would work in the shower?

I have the older one that came out when the makeup remover cloths came out and loved it in the shower. It did seem a bit drying but it really removed my eye makeup well. And I am a huge fan of their one step eye makeup remover also.

Thanks for this review. I’ve seen this in the stores, but have opted to stick with my Neutrogena Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover instead. I’m glad I did! I’d rather use just one cotton pad to remove my eye makeup than have to go with a 2-pad routine. Partly to avoid tugging on my eyes unnecessarily, and partly to avoid having to toss something else in the trash!
