The Nuance Salma Hayek Flawless Mineral Cheek Trio caught my eye because of their size. After seeing promo images I thought these were the size of a MAC Blush but they are massive….! A little bigger than a MAC Mineralized Skinfinish rather than a Blush.

The intriguing mix of blush, bronzer, and highlighter all in one also captured my eye and I instantly wanted to give these a try. I got two of them for $12.99 thanks to a sale at CVS (they are normally $12.99 each).

Let’s take a look!

A three in one blusher, highlighting and bronzer.

I love the idea behind these as they combine three products in one. It’s kinda like having a MAC Blush, Skinfinish, and Bronzer rolled into one palette.

They are available in four shades and feature a curved tear drop style packaging. The powder is supposedly triple milled and that’s easy enough to believe as it’s very silky and kicks up a whole load of product when a brush is swirled in it. I find the powder is rather luxurious and feels lovely and soft on skin.

I picked up two shades which were Pink (Beige, bronze, purple specked highlighter, coral-ish pink blush, and muddy bronzer) and Apricot (Beige, bronze, purple specked highlighter, apricot blush, muddy bronzer but not as deep as the Pink version, a little lighter).

The colors could probably sorta kinda be used separate so you can contour, blush, and highlight individually but I find swirling a blush in all three shades is the easiest application technique. Now the formula is gorgeous as I mentioned above however…

…the shades apply a little blotchy and patchy on my cheeks and aren’t too friendly in the blending department. Chalk it up to the fact the design of the product, how you swirl your brush, etc…but the overall, application proves a little difficult to get down and when you do finally get things blended out correctly I find the colors end up not to be too flattering…or at least on me they don’t.

Although the blush colors are really nice warm shades they are very drown out by the dominate shade of bronzer so basically you aren’t getting a warm flush of color but simply a muddy bronze look on cheeks. You might call me on my application methods here and perhaps it’s me who has issues with it but I find application and the shades simply don’t work.

The packaging is interesting but I find the curved, teardrop design is a pain to store as they don’t exactly fit along nicely with my other round pots of blush and face powder. Not a big issue but one that deserves mentioning!

• Those who like bronzers and know how to use them.
• Those who love the idea of having their blush, bronzer, and highlighter all in one location!

• Those who aren’t keen on really warm shades of powder and blush.
• Those who do not like muddy shades of bronzer.
• Fairer skin (this can be look a little too muddy on paler, fairer skin).

So far I’ve had some success with the Nuance Collection but the Flawless Mineral Cheek Trio might have to go back to the store (glad I kept my receipt). The colors are unflattering on my skin and I find they are drowned out and dominated by the mud brown bronzer in the mix…! I also felt the application just didn’t go as smoothly as I hoped. At $12.99 each I do second guess the price (although I got mine on sale and paid that for two which was a deal) for a drugstore face product however you might want to consider it a good deal as it is a three in one powder.

Sadly, these failed to work for me and I probably wouldn’t recommend a purchase unless you really love bronzers.
