Take a look!

Guerlain Holiday Collection 2011 Belle de Nuit

During the 1920s and 1930s, pioneers in aviation accomplished unimaginable feats and these brave pilots became instant, worldwide heroes. It was during this revolutionary period, in 1933, that Jacques Guerlain composed the legendary perfume Vol de Nuit, meaning “Night Flight,” as a tribute to the most famous women aviators of his time. Named for the second book written by his close friend Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Guerlains creation was a bold oriental fragrance that served as ode to all fearless women. Comprised of woody, vanilla and powdery iris notes, Vol de Nuit was for the woman who laughs in the face of fear, for whom nothing is impossible. For Guerlains Holiday 2011 make-up collection Belle de Nuit, Creative Director Oliver Échaudemaison takes his inspiration from this legendary fragrance. Evoking the changing shades of the night sky, he created daring tones that are both dark and dramatic with mesmerizing iridescent accents. With lacquered and blue-green details, the products are incased within boxes that reveal the blue and black zebra motif found on the original Vol de Nuit box design. Belle de Nuit is a sophisticated and enchanting limited edition collection that is as fleeting as nightfall.

Guerlain Vol de Nuit Perfumed Shimmer Powder for Face & Body $87
Make-up and fragrance merge in this ultimate holiday accessory! The light and luminous powder wraps the skin with a veil of iridescent shimmer while being deliciously fragranced by the notes that comprise Vol de Nuit: a green and woody composition, softened by vanilla and iris. The universal pale pink shade is accentuated with blue-green and silvery hues to leave the face, body and hair sparkling. The bottle reinterprets that of the original Vol de Nuit, which was revolutionary at the time by being the first to combine glass and metal. The green-blue lacquered glass is adorned with graphics reminiscent of a propeller, conjuring up the image of a plane traveling across the starry depths.

Guerlain Parure de Nuit Pressed Powder & Blush $67
More than a mere powder compact, Parure de Nuit is a lightly, violet scented skin-enhancer that is a perfect partner for night birds. As light as a feather on the skin, the pale pink, white, deep pink and blue green colors are topped with an iridescent and translucent sheen forming a universal harmony which gives the face an instant glow. Its black lacquer case conceals an extremely soft goat-hair brush.

Application tips:

  • To even out and illuminate the complexion, sweep the brush over the four shades and apply all over the face.
  • To highlight and sculpt the face, sweep over the three feathers diagonally and apply to the cheekbones for a sophisticated blush effect.

Guerlain Météorites Perles de Nuit $56
The cult favorite is back and reinvented this holiday season. Although the formula remains untouched, Météorites Perles de Nuit leaves the face glowing and radiant with a new tailor-made harmony. Five perfectly smooth pearls correct, illuminate and even out the skin. It is composed of pink pearls to capture light, white to illuminate the complexion, gold to reflect light, orange to boost radiance and silver to add shimmer without whitening the skin.

Guerlain Les Ombres de Nuit 4-Colour Palette $59
Guerlain has developed a new color harmony made especially for night owls. The two textures create smoky, seductive and spellbinding eyes that will last from twilight to the deepest night hours. An iridescent texture of green, blue and grey pearlescent particles release luminous color with an extremely metallic finish and combine with an extra-matte black shadow that offers an incredibly comfortable finish for a precise, intense liner effect.
Limited Edition Shade: 10 Les Ombres de Nuit

Guerlain Rouge Automatique $35
The thirties icon Rouge Automatique is back and is more modern and attractive than ever. A homage to Art Deco, it has become this years indispensible accessory for women. The case opens and closes at the flick of a hand revealing two new shades for holiday. Seductive, yet innocent, in Rouge Automatique, Guerlain has created a second-skin texture allowing for long-lasting wear.

Limited Edition Shades:

  • 169 Flirt dun Jour (A soft and luminous pink, evocative of passionate kisses)
  • 170 Nuit dAmour (A surprising black red that reveals an intense plum color on the lips)

Guerlain’s Holiday Collection for 2011 will be available begining October at select locations including Saks, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Sephora, Bergdorf’s, and Bloomingdales.

Will you be indulging?

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. Why, Guerlain? Why?! You know how much I love your Meteorites. Please stop making new ones. No one female can use so many! *sigh* Well, at least it’ll be nice to have a teal-coloured meteorites tin.

Everything is so beautiful, I love the bottle for the spray but it’s not something I would use!

I am intrigued by the Rouge Automatiques (and I kind of collect them…but none of the other regular line ones really work for me…). The pictures don’t look very good to me, but the descriptions sound lovely so I will have to try them out on my arm when they are released…hopefully they swatch like they sound because they would definitely be staples for me if so….especially 169 since all my other RAs are quite bright (also in the 16X line so hopefully 169 works for me as well as they do).

sometimes they are sometimes not cj ;-D in most LE times they have different colors…but most highlight in the same fashion ;-D

Hahaha oh my gosh I thought the text around the circle on the perfumed powder bottle said ‘Voldemort’ as I quickly scrolled past. Pffffft. Such a pretty bottle though, heh!

Oh this is bad…really really bad. I am drooling over that compact with the feather design. Me likey!

The products are gorgeous… But the photoshopping on the promotional image is some of the worst I’ve seen (this week, anyway). Sorta looks like they’ve plastered somebody’s face on someone else’s body. Eeek!

  • Telle

This collection is pretty but definitely not as outstanding as collections in the past, imho.

Yikes, I love that blush. I think the price point will keep me away. I only own 1 full size G. product and I got it with a gift certificate and a 20% Off code. And it was still way too much money. LOL
