Guerlain Parure de Nuit Pressed Powder & Blush Review, Swatches, Photos

The Guerlain Parure de Nuit Pressed Powder & Blush is done in the style of the Guerlain Rouge G Serie Noire from the Spring 2011 Collection. The difference between the two powders is Parure de Nuit doubles up as both a highlighting and blusher versus the Serie Noire which was a full on blush product.

This elegant powder is scented with Guerlain’s traditional violet and features a beautiful peacock design.

Let’s take a look to see if you need to add it to your Holiday wish list!

An elegant holiday highlighting powder release with the Guerlain Holiday 2011 Collection!

Parure de Nuit is a stunningly beautiful piece of powdery joy to add to your Holiday stash. My downfall is pretty powders, I own way too many but who can say no to such an elegant piece of makeup?

This violet scented powder has a feather light formula with a light pale pink and white base (this converts as a pretty shade of champagne beige-y pink) and a coral and blue green colors that accent the peacock feather design. Visually the powder is a beautiful piece of makeup but it does have a gorgeous finish if you can actually convince yourself to use it.

The powder has a fine, silky feel that gives cheeks and face a very light, iridescent glow. I was hopeful the beautiful coral would show up on my cheeks but sadly it didn’t show up. For the most part I get a shimmery champagne pink on my face…it’s not overly done thankfully so you can avoid the disco ball look. The finish is simply a shimmering glow when applied correctly (I should know, I’m heavy handed and tend to over do things). On super fair skin you might find the coral shows up as a gentle flush….

The compact, like the Rouge G Serie Noire, is a dual compartment design. The top part of the compact features a generously sized mirror and the powder and the stealthy bottom compartment contains a lovely peacock green bristled brush.

I’m not sure what’s more thrilling for me here…the gorgeous scent violet scent or the beautiful design!

If you’re sensitive do be aware as the floral scent might not work for you!

I was a little disappointed I couldn’t use this as a blush. I do think you probably have to be super fair to enjoy it as a blush and even than I imagine the coral would be very, very subtle.

  • Those who collect Holiday highlighting powders.
  • Those wanting a subtle, soft focused glow on cheeks and face.
  • Those who collect Guerlain.

  • Those who wanting to use this as both a blush and highlighting powder.
  • Those sensitive to florals or sensitive to scented powders.

Guerlain Parure de Nuit Pressed Powder & Blush is a stunning piece of Holiday makeup. Guerlain never fails to disappointed with their Holiday Collections and this powder is quite gorgeous. I was an ickle disappointed that it didn’t work out as a blush for me but pleasantly surprised I was able to use it easily as a highlighter as I tend to be heavy handed with highlighters…but this was easy to apply and made my skin light up with a soft glow.

The powder isn’t cheap at $67 but this is Guerlain we’re talking about.

Loves it…a stunning piece of makeup that will happily join my other “pretty powders” in the beauty vault.

Will you be hauling?

Guerlain’s Holiday 2011 Collection will be appearing on counter in October.

Guerlain que je t’aime!!! I love Guerlain collections, I always try to buy one are two thing from each collection. And this one is no different.
I have to say that your review for the powder is pretty par with other blog, and more people talk about it more it made me think of Cherry Blossom Blush from spring 2009 (I think) who was pretty sheer too, if you remember. And what i do with Cherry Blossom, I used it as a buffer on my cheeks over my blush and bronzer (for contouring). I still want Parure de Nui! 😀

“if you can actually convince yourself to use it” — LOL, I’ve had mine for about a week now and I STILL haven’t used it! I keep telling myself that I have to be 100% sure that I’m satisfied with the number of photos I have before I swatch or even use it. doh.

it’s such a pretty compact, the design is gorgeous, and I was pleasantly surprised by the violet scent as I don’t typically like floral ones.
