Koh Gen Do, It’s Makeup, Not Kung Fu!

Koh Gen Do might sound like an ancient art of Kung Fu but it’s not, it’s a collection of prestigious cosmetics that’s making it’s new home at Sephora and Sephora.com

Check it out, this one should be good!

I’m actually not familiar with the brand but it was created by actress Ai Saotome and is supposed be to be an Eco-friendly line of products created for hi-def cameras.

What intrigued me was its Asian’s roots and interesting line up of products.

Here’s a look at some products that captured my eye.

Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation SPF 15 PA++ $62

Aqua Foundation hides discolorations and covers skin with a fine light-diffusing layer to minimize pores and imperfections for clear, satiny smooth skin under any lighting. Seawater minerals and white birch sap extracts keep skin hydrated and radiant. This pH balanced formula, ideal for all skin types, delivers a high density of minerals and nutrients for a healthy, nourished complexion.

Koh Gen Do Moisture Concealer $54
Moisture Concealer is an advanced concealer, with skincare benefits, that covers discolorations, dark circles, and primes your eyelids, all in one easy palette. Gentle moisturizing botanical ingredients take care of areas prone to dryness, such as under the eyes, where concealers are usually most needed. The smooth, soft texture applies evenly, allowing sheer layering that applies perfectly onto skin with long-wearing results. Koh Gen Do uses cutting edge technology to create products for achieving high-definition looks, making it a cinch to apply base makeup like a pro.

Koh Gen Do Moisture Foundation $62
Maifanshi Moisture Foundation provides the superior buildable coverage of a cream with the natural-looking, sheer finish of a liquid foundation. Koh Gen Do’s “hero” product for more than 20 years, this formula is created with advanced technology from Japan taking three times the amount of time normally taken to make a foundation. Two types of light-reflecting powder particles work together to diffuse fine lines, pores and uneven skin surfaces. It’s also formulated with finely milled 100% mineral pigments that are specially coated for a color-true effect and moisturizing botanicals to support the skin for long hours of wear.

Koh Gen Do Cleansing Spa Water $39
Cleansing Spa Water is Koh Gen Do’s bestselling skincare product that is easy and gentle to use for all skin types. Made with mineral-rich hot spring water, it is infused with six essential herbs to protect and nurture skin. White birch sap, harvested only three weeks each spring, adds minerals and Xylitol as it removes makeup, oils, and residue. Rich in nutrients, it replenishes and rejuvenates as it cleanses.

Sephora has a few products but the collection is extensive and available in its entirety at www.kohgendocosmetics.com

I think I want to explore this more so expect a review or two soonish.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I was first introduced to this line at Barneys last year and I love it! I especially enjoy the moisture foundation and the foundation color corrector. I am so glad they are now carrying this line at Sephora!

I love this brand. Their customer service is great. I emailed them last month about their face powders and they sent me samples of the powder, make up base, cotton sheets, 2 packets of the cleansing water. I LOVED the cleansing water!! I just bought the face mask and the cleansing water. I am happy to see this on Sephora. If anyone is around Seattle, WA – they should or possibly already have this brand at Barneys.
