Lush No Drought Dry Shampoo

Counting down here…

Two more eppys before the season finale of Who.

What do you think will happen?

And most importantly what did you think of The God Complex?

I loved the homage to The Shining. I’m a huge fan of the novel and the entire creepy Outlook Hotel vibe in The God Complex was wicked.

What did you think was in the Doctor’s room? Personally I could have sworn a cloister bell sounded when he opened the door. I think he was confronted with his deepest fear when he opened the door, himself…!

Anyone catch that he ate an apple in the episode? Maybe I’m reading too much into but since when does he LIKE apples?

The episode is a stand alone but it’s leading into his death so I do think they set up some clues for us along the way.

Anyway…speaking of crazy British happenings Lush has a dry shampoo now. I swear I’ll never understand the idea of a dry shampoo!

Jump!

I’m the type of person that has to have a shower everyday. I simply can’t roll out of the bed, get dressed, and go to work….I need a shower in the AM.

But hey, if you aren’t the type for a shower everyday but want a quickie lazy hair wash Lush No Drought is for you!

This was invented for those times when you need a quick spruce up between proper hair washes! It has a lemon, grapefruit, and lime smell to wake you up in the morning. It starts of white but it brushes out easily and leaves hair refreshed!

What do you think?

I personally don’t love the idea of a dry shampoo. These locks need daily washing…!

Have you ever used a dry shampoo?

This is available now from Lush UK (they ship to the US).

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I am just like you…I need to wash my hair every day it is so fine and oily. But I noticed something a few years back (I’m 38 now)…my hair started to get finer! Ugh. A friend turned me onto dry shampoo. At first I resisted. I thought it was a dumb idea. But I gave it a whirl after she told me that washing my hair daily was why it was getting so fine and brittle…and now I LIVE by the stuff.

I haven’t tried Lush’s, though. I may have to. The only thing that irks me is that most of them come in white powder and I have dark brown hair. Which means I have to put it on in the morning, walk around for 10 minutes, then wash it out (kinda defeats the purpose, right?) or I’ll have dulled spots at my roots. I found some potential colored ones I’m going to give a whirl.

  • Tara Hunt

oh and p.s. In the 6 months I’ve been using it, my hair has gotten thicker, grown faster and I actually prefer the dry shampoo days because I have uber body!

  • Tammie

Pretty good episode! I am looking forward to next week’s though, CYBERMEN~! Finally a classic villain…

As for dry shampoo, sounds weird to me! I’ll stick with doing it in the shower.

    • the Muse

AMEN for cybermen…! ;-D at least it isn’t daleks, I’d die if they did more daleks LOL!

          • Tammie

Yep yep! They are scary but I think the Cybermen are scary too, especially considering how they are created!

I am kind of feeling like the Weeping Angels are losing their edge though, I hope Moffat doesn’t use them any more. I wasn’t even scared when they showed up in this episode (although they weren’t a real threat).

          • the Muse

Ah was written by TW so maybe that’s why the scare factor wasn’t there for the WA as I’m always kinda freaked by ’em 🙂

  • Liz

I love dry shampoo for after long flights, because the recycled air makes my hair so greasy and limp. But a liquid dry shampoo? Seems weird.

  • Eve

Dry shampoo is the greatest! I have fine, very oily hair where I need to wash it every day but I don’t like to because I have unnatural hair coloring (pink and green) and washing makes it fade faster. Also from what I’ve read it’s bad to wash it everyday.

  • Tammie

Oh the Weeping Angels are certainly still freaky, I just am not as terrified by them as I was in Blink~.

  • Cj

Oh Muse, I swear we are twins lol. I can’t stand not showering/washing my hair every day. I really don’t know why/how some people do it.

    • the Muse

ha same here cj! I just feel like my hair/body is dirty if I don’t…! ;-D! I can’t roll out of bed and just comb my hair, wash my face, and go to work…I need full shower, shampoo, etc…!

      • Cj

😀 last nights ep of dr who was really good I thought. I can’t believe there’s only 2 episodes left! And apparently there isn’t going to be a new season of Torchwood for a while too cause Davies is working on a new show :(.

Btw I’m in the middle of changing up my skincare routine, I was wondering between first blush and night recharge by Perricone which one do you like more?

        • the Muse

go recharge I even use it in the AM! I love that stuff. It makes my skin blush ;-D so great.

Def! That’s the episode I’m talking about here, The God Complex, so amazingggggggggggggg! I heard the same about TW and could careless, what a train wreck right?!??! ;-D!

          • Cj

I know! Yesterday they were showing the first couple eps of season 1 and I forgot how good Torchwood used to be lol. They deff needa get some help writing or something.

          • the Muse

ugh yes or a no cast lol! MP and BP? really?! UGH! wash ups!

    • Iren

It’s actually quite normal when you have insanely dry hair. Washing it every day would just make it worse. The only product I apply to my hair quasi-daily is hair oil!

  • kiwikiwidragon

I am an every other day hair washer, shower every day, TMI sorry. If I washed my hair everyday, it would probably mold. I have more hair than six people need! LOL I not only have lots of hairs, my hairs themselves are thick and course. I have had so-so results with Suave’s dry shampoo, i haven’t tried some of the higher end ones yet. Most have aluminum and/or CFC’s. I do have a sample bottle of Klorane’s oat milk version on it’s way to me now. The Tresemme versions also have CFC’s, bummer. I use the spray version as opposed to baby powder or cornstarch like some people say works. I just use it alleviate that oily look my hair can get. it really isn’t greasy or weighed down, its mostly the humidity in Florida. I spray really far away or upside down or else you get white spots.

  • Wendy

Do you think they will kill off Amy & Rory characters and change the doctor? After all it’s been 3 seasons, they never last more than 3 seasons. I’ll be sad though if they really kill off Amy, she’s my favorite companion so far.

As for dry shampoos, I have very oily scalp but I’m trying not to wash my hair everyday, instead, wash it every other day. But usually on the second day it gets oily and smelly, so I started trying out dry shampoos.

I’ve tried the Oscar Blandi powder one, which leaves a white residue on my black/brown hair. I also tried the Tresmme one that’s a hair spray form, it works ok but leaves hairs smelling funny. I’m still in search for a dry shampoo that actually works and gets my hair back to normal.

    • the Muse

no Wendy. Matt and Karen both will return for the new season, confirmed. And arthur has confirmed he’ll return but he was vague as he mentioned “returning but not in what form…” this could mean anything…I think it simply means he might be home with baby alot? LOL

They really have to work the crap out of Matt for a few years as they have used up mostly all his renegerations unless they suddenly turn around and say he can generate as MANY times as he wants or something silly like that.

I really need to try out dry shampoos ;-D I just can’t understand the concept ;D!

      • Wendy

I’m excited to see what happens though. I was sad to see David Tennant go, I’m not quite used to Matt Smith yet lol.
        But I have Karen!

  • Sophie

I’m a MASSSIVE Who fan and i swear the bell that sounded was the noise the Tardis makes when it’s gone all paradoxal etc? (I think it made it when the Master kidnapped it in the Tennant episodes!!) And is it just me or was it River’s voice when he opened with the door? It was such a good episode and I can’t wait for next week!! xx

    • the Muse

me too sophie ;-D not sure about a noise that the tardis makes during a paradox…you stumped me there and I know alot of useless Who trivia. I thought it was the cloister bell which is a sound the Tardis makes when the inhabitants or itself is in danger. Although the cloister bell has never sounded in recent episodes when the tardis was in dire problems so my theory goes to hell in a handbasket there ;-D I didn’t hear River, will have to rewatch. Someone mentioned they heard drums or knocking…Master reference!? I can’t either…! dying!!!!!!!

  • Suzie

I LOVE dry shampoo. My hair used to get greasy by the end of the day, and then I started washing it every other day or every three days and using dry shampoo and the difference is amazing. It’s supposed to actually be bad for your hair to shampoo every day. I still shower every day, I just don’t wash my hair every shower. I have to try this stuff, love me some Lush.

Also, the fact that you included the Doctor in this post just reminds me how awesome you are. 😀

  • Comrade Garlic

I haven’t washed my hair since Thursday (I know gross), but have showered everyday. My mother thought me the fine art of showering without getting your hair wet sans shower cap. Dry shampoo is my friend. I’m partial to my dwindling supply of Stila Creme Bouquet. I only have one bottle left. I hope the Lush version hits the US before that bottle is done.

  • Amanda

With the apple thing – I have given thought to the doctor in this episode being a ganger. It’s a possibility no matter how remote.which would explain the assumed tardis noise.

    • the Muse

I think it could be the case amanda how else will they get out of his death ya know? this one is tricky!

  • Marina

LOVED The God Complex. I, too, think he saw himself. I caught the apple thing too! I was like “but…I thought you hated them…?” Guess you never know with the Doctor.
And I am not going to make ANY predictions. I just don’t know where to start XD I am content looking at other people’s theories on tumblr.
Also, super, super excited for the cybermen. I am terrified of cyborgs and robots, but I just love them.

  • meghan

I can’t say enough good things about dry shampoo, I have fine, straight hair and turn into a major greaseball after not washing my hair for 1 day. And honestly, not washing my hair has been majorly good for it, it got soooooooooo soft, after enough time it makes a HUGE difference.

  • Quinctia

I have thick hair that just soaks up liquids. The last time I attempted to blow dry my hair it took about 45 minutes. Thus, I almost always shower at night so I can leave with dry hair when I start my day. I personally feel just fine and clean when I wake up in the morning. I am lucky enough to have wavy hair that doesn’t do weird stuff if I sleep on it wet (or at least, it doesn’t do anything weirder than it does when I sleep on it dry!)

I do the every other day hair washing bit, too. I’ve been using the Suave dry shampoo recently, just to perk up the roots. If I use too much, though, I end up with such a pile of poofy hair!

From what I can tell, you get into a washing routine with your hair and continuing with it ends up being the easiest thing to do. If you wash a lot, there’s extra oil production and if you want to change that, you (and your hair) will go through a time period of hell, but you’ll eventually reach an equilibrium. I’ve seen some people post in threads or blog about washing their hair once a week or less and not having issue with it, but the thought of that bothers me probably as much as not washing your hair everyday bothers you.

  • Irene

I adore dry shampoo (Klorane was my go to forever.. Batiste from Sally if I was broke but my most recent love affair is with Got2 Be!!) I don’t understand how this one works though.. I can go 3 days without washing my hair (I wash myself with a shower cap) and re-styling is a breeze. My colored hair stays much truer to the day I colored it using dry shampoo.

I’ll have to figure this one out, not sure how it works since it’s not in a spray bottle.

  • xmas

I want to try this, it sounds like it smells good. I also want to try the Cake Beauty one. My hair is so dry, even with oils I put in it, that I can’t wash it every day, most like every 4 days or less. I just have super thick Italian hair, plus I was on accutane 2x.

  • Busy chi

I’m heading over to the lush store in the morning to check it out. I’ve tried the Oscar brand and holy bleep that stuff smells like pledge and after an hour my head will smell like ammonia. It had that dirty cafeteria smell. People says it smells clean. No! It smells like public cleaning products. It does what it’s supposed to do better than any other dry shampoo I’ve ever tried. But I’ve had 2 guys ask what the he’ll is that smell?!
