MAC Pro Longwear Lipcream Review, Swatches, Photos

MAC Style Driven will be releasing on September 22nd, 2011 and includes a range of MAC Pro Long Wear products including Pro Longwear LipCremes.

Let’s take a look at some of the LipCreams!

Jump!

I’m normally not a fan of cream finish lipsticks but I have some love for MAC Pro Longwear Lipcremes without a doubt. I find the formula incredibly creamy and nicely moisturizing. Where as many creams tend to flake up on my lips or end up looking cakey after a few hours of wear these have a nice fresh finish for the entire time they are on my lips without feeling dry. One of the perks of the formula is the incredible glide on my lips as they apply extremely easily and flawlessly in a single swipe. Overall, I like the formula alot and find they do not transfer if I am sipping from a cup. I’d say I can get about 4 to 5 hours of wear time without touch ups even with drinking in between.

The colors I tried were:

  • Dress It Up: This a light, nude baby pink. If you’d a lover of mod-dy pink shades this one is for you. Personally I didn’t like it as my lips are a bit dry and it applied patchy on me and didn’t have as nice a glide as the other colors I tried.
  • Soft Sell: This is a rosy mauve shade. I find the color applies dusky pink on my lips. Again, this has a nice glide, moisturizing feel, and wears quite lovely.
  • So Very Good: This is a mauve although MAC calls it plum…am I nuts or does this not look plum at all? Either way this is a nice nudish mauve on my lips which a very nice creamy glide.
  • Postively Dashing: This is my favorite of the shades I tried. This is a warm, blue red berry. The shade reminds me of a few raspberry shades I have from Bobbi Brown. Like the other colors, the consistency of the formula remains strong here with a creamy glide, moisturizing feel, and lightweight finish and strong wear time.

I’m not really a lipstick person so I don’t tend to get super excited about such a product but I can say I really enjoyed Pro Longwear Lipcremes. I’m still not convinced that cream finishes are for me but these made wearing such a finish easy as they have a creamy, moisturizing feel with a very easy glide that applies beautifully.

If you like cream finishes I highly recommend these and if you’re a bit meh on them like me I still urge you to have a swatch as I think you’ll enjoy them.

Plus MAC always goes big so you have a wide range of shades to choose from here.

Although these are limited edition I imagine at some point they’ll add them to the permanent collection.

Have you tried them?

Are they on your wish list?

I like lipstick christina but I don’t LIKE lipstick. Some folks are lipstick people, some love gloss, some eyeshadow, etc….I personally get excited about new eyeshadow palettes or blushes but lipstick fails to get my blood boiling if that makes sense.

Oooh I am DEFINITELY a lipstick person!! And I seriously WANT all of these! (Well…except for the pale baby pink which would look hideous on my tan skin ^_^ ) Do you know how much they’re going to be retailing for? Or is it going to be the normal $15?
