Majolica Majorca Puff de Cheek Review, Swatches, Photos
You MIGHT wanna nom the Majolica Majorca Puff de Cheek but please don’t, it’s a blush not a French pastry!
Puff de Cheek was released for Spring 2011 so this review is an ickle over do but better later than never particularly when it comes to cute beauty as you can never have enough of that.
Jump!
A cute powder blush shaped like a macaron!
Of course, of course, it’s the packaging here. I’ve become an ickle immune to sweet packaging but I can be tempted by the devil sometimes.
Majolica Majorca Puff de Cheek comes in a cute little tin shaped like a French macaron. Inside you’ll find a sweet little ribboned cotton puff for application. Packaging is girlishly sweet and will get plenty of “awwww”s from kawaii makeup fans. Majolica Majorca is actually a Japanese brand created by Shiseido for younger girls but I’ve always had a soft place in my heart for their releases which is one reason I hauled this little guy.
The shade I picked up was PK301 which is a pinky, peach. The formula is much like MJ’s standard blushes so there isn’t anything super unique or special about the blush and if you already own some of their blushes, this shade is probably spot on for one you already have in your stash. The formula is a chalky, matte finish. The chalkiness isn’t a major issue and the blush blends easily. Actually, the formula is purposely chalky as this is made for Asian skin which in many cases is oily thus the formula adheres well to skin and wears well. The puff is easy enough to use or you can swirl a brush in the tin if you like.
I find the color gives a flush of subtle peach on my cheeks that builds up easily. It’s not super pigmented but it has a nice, natural finish that gives just the right amount of color to cheeks.
The color will probably prove a little too subtle for tan, olive, or darker skin tones.
Majolica Majorca is sold in Japan and a few other places in Asia so online ordering, airmail, etc…is a necessary evil.
- Anyone seeking a subtle, natural blush.
- Those who love kawaii beauty finds.
- Those who love Majolica Majorca and collect their releases.
- Those who prefer more sophisticated pieces of makeup.
- Olive, tan, or darker skin tones (the color might not show up well on these tones).
Majolica Majorca Puff de Cheek is cute but is it worth the effort? After airmail probably not. It’s a very cutely packaged blush but I’m not sure it’s worth the trouble of airmail and the higher than retail cost you may run into. However, it is understandable if you end up lemming it, who doesn’t love cutely packaged beauty products?
Quite cute particularly for fairer skin ladies or oily skin types.
