Sephora Moonshadow Baked Palette Review, Swatches, Photos
Sephora Moonshadow Baked Palette is probably one of the nicest palettes I’ve seen from the Sephora Color Collection. I’m normally not a fan of Sephora’s house brand cosmetics but sometimes they have real diamonds and the Moonshadow Baked Palette is one such item.
Let’s take a peek!
A ten palette selection of glittery baked eyeshadows.
I was under the impression this was massive but in reality each pan is about the size of a quarter however the design, the shadows, etc…are all rather well done. The palette is a large rectangle but not so large it won’t travel with you easily. Inside you’ll find the ten baked eyeshadows and a very generously sized mirror that runs the entire palette.
The shadows have a smooth, baked finish much like MAC Mineralized Eyeshadows however I find these don’t have as much of a glittery burst. Each does have a healthy dose of shimmer however not nearly as much as some of the MAC Baked Shadows do. I think the combination of the baked formula plus the shimmer was what sold me here as I adore baked eyeshadows since they can be easily used wet or dry.
I find the formula blends easily with minimal fall out woe and has a nice pigmentation. I wouldn’t call pigmentation incredible but they have very good color pay off for a defined look. I had a little problem blending with other colors in the palette as shades go a tad muddy but this isn’t surprising as baked shadows in general always prove difficult to use together.
Some colors apply a little patchy so I do suggest a sponge applicator for application which allows a smooth, even finish plus such an applicator allows you to build color easily.
Formula is a bit mixed so you aren’t consistently getting a perfect formula but it can be worked out with the use of a sponge tipped applicator.
I experienced a little shimmery fall under eyes and on cheeks during application but nothing as bad as what MAC’s Mineralized Shadow produces, those are just crazy fall out.
- Those wanting a nice bang for their buck (this is $28for ten shades).
- Those wanting a nice mix of Fall colors to create various rich, warm looks for autumn!
- Those who generally enjoy warmer, nude shades of color.
- Those who aren’t keen on baked formulas.
Sephora Moonshadow Baked Palette has a nice range of nude, natural shades which should appeal to those with big brown eyes or those who really enjoy warmer, richer shades for Fall. I loved this palette as I found it easy to travel with plus it had enough color to create a variety of different looks. The palette contains a selection of bronzes, browns, golds, beiges, coppers, and even purple…all the colors you need for a warm look in the cooler weather.
If you’re a lover of nudes, this one is for you particularly for baked shadow lovers!
Loves it!
