the Balm Timebalm Dandelion Brightening Moisturizer Review, Swatches, Photos

As you know the Balm has gone all out with a new range of skincare that’ll knock your socks off. They pretty much covered anything and everything you’d want from skincare.

Toners, eye creams, serums, moisturizers…you name it, the Balm’s Time Balm Skincare Collection has it.

I’ve been testing out a few of the products and so far I like what I see.

I’ve been dabbling with the Balm Dandelion Brightening Moisturizer and here are my thoughts!

A glowing moisturizer to brighten skin!

Dandelion Brightening Moisturizer is a “glowy” moisturizer. The formula is a white creamy base but it has light reflecting pigments in the mix that give skin a soft focused glow. Beware…I have a full face and can’t pull off all the glow so if you do too be very careful during application as you can easily over do it here.

The formula is a quick absorbing, hydrating moisturizer. It’s not tacky or sticky, it leaves skin feeling gently hydrated and refreshed. It’s an ideal pick for a Summer moisturizer for drier skin but not a Winter moisturizer as you may feel you need an ickle more hydration in the cooler weather if you have drier skin. The moisturizer is infused with Dandelion Extract but doesn’t have a floral smell but simply a subtle, fresh scent that’s barely there. According to the Balm, dandelions are an excellent source of protein and vitamins for skin and helps keep skin clear.

This also contains Ginkgo Biloba extract which seems to be appearing in many skincare products lately. Ginkgo Biloba extract is known for its collagen producing properties and giving skin a rosy blush.

Although a very lightweight, comfortable moisturizer I do have to be very careful not to over use it due to the light reflecting pigments. My face is rounder and full and using too much produces a harsher, glowing light on my face. This glow is quite nice but it prevents me from making proper use of the moisturizer because instead of say a quarter size amount I have to make due with less than a penny size amount therefore forgoing the benefit of the moisturizing properties here.

  • Those who want a moisturizer to give them a glow.
  • Those who want a lightweight, quick absorbing moisturizer.

  • Those will a fuller face (a little goes a long way here as the light reflecting pigments can be over done on a rounder face).

the Balm Dandelion Brightening Moisturizer has quite a nice formula. It’s just what I look for in a day moisturizer as it’s lightweight, fast absorbing, and leaves my skin feeling dewy and bouncy to the touch. However, the light reflecting pigments are easily overdone on my fuller face which results in a little too much glow if you know what I mean!

Those who practice light hand application will be quite happy with the highlighting effect but those who require a moisturizer that they don’t want to hold back with might want to second guess this little guy.

I like the idea of the highlighting glow effect but I’m so heavy handed I end up looking like a disco ball with this in place.

Sad sigh!

Interesting idea but it didn’t quite work out for my round face.

It looks interesting but, as sensitive as my skin is, it’s not worth the chance of a rash. I use MAC’s Strobe Cream under my foundation, and I love the dewy look it gives me.

    Thanks for the review. 🙂

I bought a set of timebalm skincare products (iris night cream, dandelion day cream, and lavender cleanser) for $14.99 at a local Marshall’s store. I’ve never heard of this brand before but the packaging and its natural ingridients attracted me. I tried both the night and day creams and love them. The day cream does give my face a natural dewy glow, and it is light weight but moisturizes very well. I hope it provides some long term improvment to my skin texture and tones.
