Bison Wakilala Underarm Cleanser Review

I dunno if I’m lacking in my underarm care because up until now I’ve never actually had a specific wash just for my pits. How about you? Shower Gel or soap has always worked perfectly fine for me…

But Bison Wakilala Underarm Cleanser proclaims I’m doing it wrong!

Wakilala is a Japanese cleaner that was created exclusively for cleansing under your arms…

Beauty Most Unusual maybe?

For the record, I don’t have smelly pits….but I was ever so curious about this cleanser I couldn’t resist picking one up.

This was created exclusively to use under your arms as it’s formulated to combat odor, visible pores, and ingrown hair plus it actually whitens your arm pits…(dunno why you’d need whiter pits but hey, whatever floats your boat).

Does it work?

Happy you asked…because yes it actually does.

This has a bright, sunny scent kinda like sweet oranges or candy orange. The formula is much like a traditional foaming collagen wash from Asia. It’s a thick paste which creates mounds of lather once water is applied. The cleanser also has rather large scrubby grains in it.

I think what most impressed me about the cleanser was the fact that it softens smaller hairs that your razor may miss thus allowing for a smoother, closer shave (you do not want to use this after shaving with nor do you want to use it as a shaving cream). The large grains softened up my entire under arm area and softened dense, prickly hair so that my razor was able to get a closer shave.

It’s an interesting product…

I’ve honestly never considered having a separate cleanser just for my arm pits alone but after trying this I’ll definitely repurchase it.

It’s a bit unusual but I liked it.

I got it from Sasa.com

Anyone try?

I haven’t tried this but usually scrubs are too harsh for larger expanses of my body, so I tend to just use them on places used to abuse, like the pits! This looks like a great product Secret should make a version of Stateside, heh!

If they had this in my local Asian markets I’d pick it up, but I don’t think I’d bother with Sasa for a pit cleanser hehe. Sounds mighty interesting though.

You are a riot!!!! I have never thought about buying a seperate cleanser for my arm pits either and at first I thought it was crazy. But after reading that it softens hairs and helps to get a better shave, I could just be a sucker for such a thing 🙂

For the part when you asked why you need whiter pits: here in Asia you’d get
-scrutinized if you have darker pits (even the slightest discoloration)
-praised and wow-ed at if you have whiter pits.
It may sound trivial, but it’s quite important here to have white pits unless you don’t mind hearing people whispering around you about your pits.

I’m thinking of getting this one, but it’s kind of weird to infuse that into my daily regimen.

I have this! It’s actually a very good product but I don’t think everyone needs it…

It’s HG for me because I have sensitive underarms.. so a lot of products in general don’t work and cause skin irritation which also makes the skin surface sort of rough, and sometime darker too depending on if I’m using the “wrong” deodorant/soap etc. It really sucks.. For many years I couldn’t wear sleeveless shirts due to this but I discovered Wakilala a few years ago restores it back to normal for me. It’s AMAZING. I highly recommend this to anyone who has a similar issue!

I can’t speak for odor controlling properties but everything else about it is great. The brightening effect is temporary though like all skin products and requires consistent use but you can see immediate results though. The smell is a plus. I wish I could find a body wash with this scent.

I’ve been meaning to try the Wakilala toner but the cleanser has done enough for me to need it.

I’ve read about the Bison Wakilala line and have an interest in it. Glad to know it’s sold on Sasa because I despise shopping on eBay these days!

I would buy this if it were in a store close to me and if the price was right. I am intrigued, but don’t know if I can justify an online order for armpit scrub when I’m about to be hauling a bunch of holiday stuff, lol

That’s good if it whitens pits! Because sometimes when you shave its darker under pits from ingrown hairs. I don’t really shave though, I use an epilator but I’ll check it out! Thanks.

my pleasure kat! I don’t really have an issue with pigmentation probs under my arms but found it interesting it whitens!

  • Sara

I just use a regular body scrub for under my arms 🙂 no need for something fancy!

I was looking at a few of these under arm products at Imomoko and was interested. I have not so stellar armpits. No odor or anything and i have to shave every day, they just aren’t smooth or pretty, at all. I think its years of shaving, but I would never, ever consider growing it out to get a wax. If these asian products could make them smooth and fabulous, I would push through a crowd of people to get it and show everyone how fabulous they are!

jen I’m pretty impressed with this. I tend to have a bit of a stubble issue and have a hard time getting a good, close shave and this really does the trick!

  • The Kat

Oh, God. I think this is going to be a life saver. Been trying to get rid of the ingrown hair and roughness of the skin for ages! And it doesn’t help when I have dark hair and fair skin which causes hints of ‘darkness’ even after shaving. Thank you so much! I’ll try to find it.

  • MMM

Ohhhh this will go on my wishlist. I have a darker skin tone and when I shave, I still have darkness so the whitening would be great for me.

  • Joy

Thank You Muse!! I went and got it at my local Asian market (Canal st. NYC) God sent to me I’ll let you know if it works. People on birth control pills or those with insulin resistant or PCOS or any other hormonal problems tend to suffer from Acanthosis nigricans is a disorder known for hyperpigmentating your neck, inner thights and underarms.

  • Miss D

Glad you liked this Muse…I’ve been using this on and off for a little over a year and it makes my skin super soft! 🙂

  • Melissa

I think I’ll get one! Can I know how many times do you use it and how long does it takes to see the results? thanks <3

  • Darlyngirl

Hi,I’m from malaysia. I found this thing sell at sasa^^ just wanted to ask.
Do I really need to use both to get fast result?
Cannot I just only use the clear wash?
Can I still wear Deodorant after using it for first time?
I hope U get it. I will be waiting for your answer☺
