Lumene 5 Minute SOS Cream Review

Lumene 5 Minute SOS Cream deserves a little ABBA Karaoke brought to you by yours truly!

If you’re as old as dirt aka my age you probably remember a little movie entitled Just the Way You Are, it included some azz shaking by Kristy McNichol to ABBA songs, SOS wasn’t one but I just wanted to give a shout out because someone needs to see about releasing that flick on DVD…I call for a re-watch. Feel free to reminisce with me.

Anyway, I’m in love with this moisturizer at the moment, Imma tell you all the cool details about it.

Jump!

Lumene 5 Minute SOS Cream is one of those moisturizer miracles in my humblest. Here’s the thing….My skin is dry in the Winter, obviously right? Raw, cold air kills dry skin.

But it’s really hard finding the proper balance in your skincare life during the day because you don’t want to overdo things with a moisturizer that’s too rich yet you don’t want to settle with a moisturizer that’s so lightweight it doesn’t ease your dry skin problems like flaky areas or patchy cheeks, etc….

It’s a dilemma.

Needless to say you can indulge in as many serums, rich lotions and potions you want during the evening but these types of product for daily use can be too heavy and greasy which in turns makes your skin look oily during the day.

Lumene 5 Minute SOS Cream is a total solution for keeping your dry skin super hydrated without feeling heavy or greasy or making your face shiny. It’s a miracle! Bless be!

This new moisturizer contains Pro-Vitamin B5 and is sensitive formula for dry, irritated skin. My skin isn’t red or irritated but it is dry and this worked a treat as a daily moisturizer. I think the formula is so appealing because it’s a rich cream but it wears easily in the day without making me look shiny. Some moisturizers for dry skin make me feel like they are sitting on top of my skin but this absorbs easily and leaves behind a soft, smooth, supple, moisturized face. This eases dry patches, flaky areas, and keeps my skin hydrated all day.

To say I’m impressed is an understatement. If you suffer from dry skin (or dry, irritated skin) you’ll want to try this one out. Particularly if you have issues with finding just the right moisturizer that isn’t too rich or overly done for day use.

Love this stuff!

It’s brand new so look for it at your local CVS.

Muse Approved for purchase.

Ah! I love ABBA! Have a bunch on my iPod 😀 BTW- do you remember that old Kristy McNichol movie “Little Darlin’s”?? I loved that movie… til I had a child of my own. Now I’m all shocked and appalled LOL LOL

But it did lead to my life-long love of Armand Assante… Yum!

    • the Muse

HA missy I remember that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! do you remember the pirate movie? GROAN! Ahh Armand Assante 😀

Hi Muse! This is so OT but I am in the middle of making a major Lush haul but it’s taking so long for my cart to load to checkout…and I thought of you LOL! So sad to see that Snowcake is already sold out. 🙁 Perhaps they will bring back the shower gel version? In my never-ending quest for acne-free skin, I’m giving Enzymion and Fresh Farmacy a try. I’m also picking up a pot of Gorgeous for one of my BFF’s presents!

hey bonnie! weird sorry to hear it girl. Give them a phone order call chica! Don’t worry snowcake will restock 😀 promise! You can even call and ask them when a fresh stock will be made. Doubt shower gel will be back hun but you can cross fingers and toes ;-D Good Luck with FF I think you’ll LOVE it ;-D and damn wish I was you BFF ;-D gorgeous is a fab GIFT!

Muse, this is really OT, but I’m making a Sephora order for F&F and am not sure which Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment to get, Rose or Passion. Which would you recommend for a pale girl?

    • the Muse

I’m not really sure Kathleen…I like them both but it really depends what sort of colors you think look best on you 🙂

  • Caroline

Oh great, I was so curious about this one and now I’m definitely gonna buy it!

they are … tzone! nose and forhead. sometimes if the moisturiser is really heavy gets oily during the day on my cheeks though they are drier. but i suspect thats because that moisturizer just sits on my skin like goop versus getting soaked in

        • the Muse

mmm jharna I get an oily forehead too, not nose though. I think you might be able to give this a whirl safely. It absorbs easily, leaves skin supple rather than greasy/oily!

thanks for this review, Musey! i have several lotions and potions but i’m caught in the same dilemma you mention- most don’t seem to cut it, but if i use one that’s too heavy, i look shiny and i often break out. i’ve been enjoying some Lumene products this year and will definitely use my Extrabucks to find this bad boy!!!

    • the Muse

my pleasure miss laura 🙂 Try this, I think you’ll like it alot! It might be a staple winter day moisturizer for me at this point!

  • Bonnie

I’m buying my BFF the Gorgeous moisturizer based primarily on your years of recommendations! 🙂 She has dry skin like you, and I think she will love it!

Have you reviewed the Lush ‘Jackie Oates’ foundation and I just missed it? I’m giving that a try as well!

Thanks for this! I’ll have to check out the ingredients, but I’ve been looking for a nice, rich, non-pore clogging cream for nights when my skin is irritated & dry and needs a break from retin-a (like tonight… I think I overdid it with my microfiber cloth. ouch!)
