Tarina Tarantino Beauty Conditioning Lip Sheen Review, Swatches, Photos

Tarina you have grown up girl!

Tarina Tarantino Beauty has undergone a very sophisticated, mature make over. The beauty collection featured pink and silver packaging for its original launch with crystal embeds. I personally squealed when they launched the brand at Sephora because, well, obviously right? It was pretty, pink, and sparkly…..my repertoire as a beauty junkie.

I had nothing against the packaging and loved it. It was so very Tarina and so very girly girl.

Flash forward to Fall 2011 and Tarina Tarantino Beauty has gotten a sophisticated new make over. Not only are you getting great new packaging but also quality makeup…I’m utterly in love with Tarina Tarantino Beauty Conditioning Lip Sheens. Why I never tried these with the original packaging is beyond me but I’m going to say you NEED these.

Jump!

A lightweight, easily wearable lipstick that provides medium coverage and shine.

Tarina says….

“I have always dreamed of having a lipstick that is sheer with just the right amount of pigment payoff. I also wanted one with staying power that would not dry out my lips. I had given up the search, but now I have created the ultimate lipstick for busy girls like me who don’t have time for constant reapplying. My Lip Sheen formula provides a perfect amount of longwearing color and conditioning ingredients that give your lips the love they need to keep them hydrated and happy.”

And she’s succeeded.

This is exactly what Conditioning Lip Sheen is all about. This is a lightweight lipstick with just the right amount of pigment to give lips that MLBB (my lips but better) experience that looks natural and pretty with just the right amount of shine, a super comfortable wear, and hello, gorgeous packaging!

I can’t believe I haven’t tried these until now!

The new packaging is a plus for those who weren’t so keen on the girlish pink. These come in gunmetal grey mirrored tubes with a nice weight behind them. The bottom edge of the lipstick cap features a sparkling circle of jewels which clashes beautifully with the mirrored accents of the tube. The packaging is very grown up and hell, it looks a heck of alot more expensive than the mere $22 you paid for it.

I think the joy I found in the lipsticks is they simply enhance my natural lip color. They bring out the best in my lips without every looking too bold or overly done. Every single color I tried left behind a flush of just the right shade that looked natural and beautiful. I really love a great shade of lipstick that looks like my own lip color but better and these bring that to the table. And hey, no worries at all if your lips are less than pigmented as they pack plenty of color to give you a delicious looking pout.

Formula has a beautiful smooth, comfortable glide that doesn’t tug or apply patchy since it also has an emollient, shiny finish that even dry lips will enjoy. The formula proves lightweight, comfortable to wear, and has a subtly shiny finish. I find they wear quite long as well and I can get 5 hours in before a touch up plus they actually wear through sips of tea or water without migrating around my mouth or fading.

Colors I tried:

  • Cameo: A medium nude rose.
  • Prong: A nude rosy brown.
  • Pendait: Pretty peachy pink with golden sparkle that goes great with my favorite Tarina Blush, Parasol or even NARS Orgasm (the shade is very similar to Orgasm).
  • Watermelon Wow: A rich shade of berry.
  • Queen Alice: A brown based pink.

Absolutely nothing bad here…I love these!

  • Anyone wanting a lightweight lipstick that wears long and strong.
  • Those seeking a natural, MLBB lipstick (my lips but better).
  • Those wanting a lipstick to enhance their eye look without being overly bold or overly done.
  • Those wanting a conditioning lipstick that gives lips smooth, flawless coverage.

  • No one!

These were a winner for me! Tarina has successfully created a lipstick that’s easy to wear without looking over done or unnatural. I love how every shade simply enhanced my look without looking to bold or clown-y. I love the lighter formula and adore that it wears so long and strong between drinking a spot of tea here and there throughout the day. The formula is ace, the packaging is brilliant, but the really appealing aspect of the lipstick for me was how it gave my lips a natural flush of color.

Gorgeous!

Tarina Tarantino Beauty Conditioning Lip Sheen make it onto the the YOU need this list. At $22 they are well under priced for such a superior lipstick.

Wow, it really sucks the brand thought they needed to strangle the girly fun out of the packaging design. I love these lipsticks but the new packaging is ghastly. I’m a girly girl and I loved Tarina’s stuff both on a formula level and because it was unabashedly pink, feminine, and fun. I’m sad that they had to change the look of the brand to something totally generic to garner attention for the products.

I really want to try it because the formula sounds just like what I look for during the work week (I love my fancy lipsticks but most of the time it’s a bit much to deal with at work), and I really love MLBB stuff…but I gotta say I am not a fan of this new mature looking packaging…the girly bows and pink was what I LOVED about the line to begin with! I’ll be trying these lipsticks for sure, despite the packaging change but I don’t think the line will hold the same wonder to me in general 🙁

Those look beautiful. I think I need Prong in my life. And maybe Cameo. And heck, may as well throw in Pendait!

I’ve been following all of your posts on this relaunch! Thanks for swatching! I was curious about watermelon wow when i saw it on sephora’s website, is it a new shade in the line? (haven’t seen it swatched anywhere til now) I think i’m loving the tubes- are they metal/weighty? Nothing better than whipping out a luxurious lipstick tube out of your purse while in public!

hi kiki. I’m not sure. I never paid attention to the original release, kicking myself, it’s possible they updated the shade selection as well as packaging. Yup, I mentioned in the review they have a bit of weight behind them ;-D very elegant packaging…the pink was girly and cute and very nice but the are actually even better ;-D!

Would it be wrong to spend $100+ on all these colors? OMG, LOVE! They remind me a bit of the Revlon Lip Butters.

I understand updating – but WHAT DID THEY DO WITH THE COLOR “STUDIO”???
    I can’t find it ANYWHERE!
    Its the perfect neutral color….
