Tarina Tarantino Beauty Dollskin Cheek Blush Review, Swatches, Photos

Tarina Tarantino Dollskin Cheek Blush has undergone a revamp in the packaging department. I actually reviewed this product in the past and gave it a very hearty rave thanks to the incredible color (Parasol) I purchased and the sweet packaging but I recently got to check out a few more shades and I managed to fall in love for a second time.

It’s just a really great blush and one you should check out if you haven’t already.

Take a look!

The compact of these blushes originally included a pink faceplate and sparkling rhinestones around it. I loved the package when I purchased my original blush. The new packaging is a little slicker and a bit more grown up as it’s a gunmetal grey with a lighter shade of grey that makes up the face plate. The rhinestones are still there but a bit smaller and they now have a protective plastic over them versus the original packaging that had no protection. I like the new packaging alot as it’s a bit more mature and elegant.

The blush formula hasn’t changed here. It’s just as great as it when I originally reviewed it, nothing has changed. Two essential shades you want to keep your eye on are Parasol and Feather which are unique shades of glistening coral and peach.

Shades in the collection include (Swatched from Left to Right, Bottom to Top in the photos below):

  • Charm (dirty rose)
  • Feather (shimmering peach)
  • Neapolitan Lane (dirty tan pink)
  • Parasol (shimmering bright pink coral)
  • Carved Rose (cooler vivid pink)

The formula is a silky, finely milled powder with a lovely pigmentation. The blushes always manage to give me a flawless finish and add just the right amount of color to my cheeks. Although a few of the shades are quite bright in the compact they give a natural, youthful glow that builds easily or sheers out for a more subtle look.

There are a sea of blushes out there but maybe you haven’t yet tried Dollskin Cheek Blush, if not, I recommend a purchase as you’ll delighted with them. I like these alot and highly recommend them.

Looks-wise they’re seeming identical to the Hello Kitty for Sephora ones in the compacts. Are they?

    • the Muse

gosh no. Most of the HK makeup I tried wasn’t too great. I think these are far nicer. Particularly Feather and Parasol, very nice shades of golden peach and coral 🙂

Love these! I bought Parasol after your original review and love it – the finish is amazing, like you said. I think I might have to pick up a few more in the new packaging 🙂 Thanks for reviewing!!

kristy I am SO glad you got parasol! It’s great! Get feather! You’ll love it just as much ;-D my pleasure! I love these…they are prob one of the best items in her collection imho!

I swatched Feather and Parasol at Sephora the other day and I must have them both! Do you think I should get them separately or wait for the palette which is still “not in stock”? Are the other 2 colors in that one neccesary? I ask because I swatched the whole line and only Feather and Parasol really stood out as I love that sort of shimmer they have right now. It’s my favorite because it gives my skin a lit from within sheen and a sort of airbrushed finish.

wait for the palette, it’s gorg and it saves money! those two shades are INCREDIBLE! Must haves but I say wait for the palette 🙂 you can get four shades for the price of two!

Thanks :). I think I will go swatch the other colors in the palette again, and if I like them enough then I’ll get it. Because each color in the palette is 1/2 the size of the single (although it says full size on the page), if I don’t like them at all maybe it’s just better to have more of the ones I do like.

        • the Muse

hey tammie my pleasure ;-D either way with 20% off it’s worth a haul be it the full sizes or the palette only eh 🙂

  • Carolyn

Thanks for the tip about the palette–that’s going on my “must buy” list for November/December.

  • Jessica

Thanks so much for swatching these! I’ve been searching high and low for a swatch of Neapolitan Lane (I think it’s new to the range, isn’t it?). I can’t wait for the palette to become available – must have it!

    • the Muse

I think so Jess! 🙂 It really is! I couldn’t agree more, such a fab palette ;-D!

  • RM

I really want Parasol now…. (adds to growing list of things to buy) But I actually don’t like the packaging, IDK, the rhinestones are just too blingy for me. 🙁

Oh my goodness. With Tarina Tarantino being 40% off at Sephora right now, I couldn’t resist and purchased Neapolitan Lane which has dethroned Cargo Tonga as my HG natural, jen ne sais quois blush. It is deliciously creamy and wonderfully balances out my natural flush.

The Charm and Carved Rose swatches appear similar on my computer screen. Which one do you think would better suit a NC 20/25 complexion with yellowish undertones?

I’m may have to track down the palette — it’s sold out online and at the nearest Sephora.

I own Parasol in the new packaging and I’m sooooo in love with it! I’ve been mostly reaching for this product the last 2-3 months and it almost looks brand new! I bought mine at Sephora when they had their sale and I will forever be kicking myself for not getting more.

Are they avaiable for purchase in Canada I didint see them on line and it said they dont carry the brand.

    • Isabella Muse

Sephora no longer sells them but Tarina has them on her website, not sure if she ships to Canada.
