Tarina Tarantino Sparklicity Pure Review, Swatches, Photos
I live to sparkle.
To shine.
To shimmer.
To glitter…
Ok, we’ve established I’ve very addicted to shimmery makeup. Don’t hold me it against me k? I’m a typical girl that loves glittery stuff and yes, I got pretty excited about
the fact that Tarina Tarantino Sparklicity Shimmer comes in several shades now.
Hells yes!
Jump!
The Tarina Tarantino Sparklecity Pure has always had a traditional release of color for different seasons. In the Summer it’s bronze shimmer, in the Winter for the Holidays a gold…
However, most recently, with the revamp of Tarina Tarantino Beauty at Sephora, we are now offered several shades of Sparklicity Pure Shimmer. This loose powder contains a microcrystallined sparkle product that you can use on eyes, cheeks, or lips.
The thing is, it’s not like any sparkle product you’ve used before.
The powder has a super intense level of shimmer so it catches the light and shines beautifully. The effect is pretty incredible particularly when you use it on your eyes as it appears as if you decked your lids out with stars from the very sky above.
Each little pot contains 0.05 oz of loose sparkle in the new packaging. Prior to this the product used to come in a glass jar with a pink and grey label. It’s gotten a revamp packaging wise and sports a lighter jar now and a gunmetal grey lid. I think the packaging went from uber girly to more sophisticated and glam.
Formula wise the sparkle is finely milled and a little goes a very long way due to the high level of shimmer you’re getting here. Try not to over do it because you can easily come out of it looking like a unicorn vomited on you, yeah, unicorns totes gag up shimmer dontcha know?
I find it’s easy enough to work with but like any loose powder it suffers from fall out if you’re too heavy handed, using a bushy brush for application, or over blending. You’ll want to use this in conjunction with an eyeshadow as an overcoat. Of course, no one says you can’t use on its own but be sure to have a solid primer down on your bare lid prior to applying, you’ve been warned.
Personally I think the best effect is as an overcoat as it adds a nice bit of sparkle to a matte shadow or a shadow that doesn’t contain a good deal of sparkle.
No one says you can’t multitask and mix some with your body lotion and apply it on your legs or arms or even dust some in your hair for a bit of festive sparkle. The possibilities of using the product are endless.
As I mentioned above the exciting part is the fact that the brand now offers the product in several shades.
Choose from:
- Nude
- Pure Opal
- Bronze
- Gold
Although not super pigmented the sparkle will reflect the shade color beautifully. The colors I tried were Gold which is a dirty, bronze-y gold, Opal which is almost an iridescent shade of lilac white, and Nude which is a pale, nude gold.
I eat sparkle on my corn flakes in the morning so I was all about these. I adore them particularly now that the Holiday season is nearing and sparkle is always the order of business. Fair warning though, these aren’t for those who hate shimmer!
You can get ’em now exclusively at Sephora and Sephora.com
