What to Purchase During Sephora Friends and Family 2011: The Palette Edition
With Sephora Friends and Family 2011 in full force here are some helpful hints on which palettes are worth the haul.
Love them or hate them you can’t deny that palettes are where you get the most bang for your buck. You can spend $25 on a single blush or you can indulge in a palette that will range from $39-$55 that includes several blushes, several eyeshadows, and possibly more.
Of course, palettes suffer downfalls sometimes and quality isn’t always up to par with the standard line of cosmetics offered by your favorite brands plus let’s not forget contending with creams and powders in one cramped place. But if you can get passed the drama of palettes you’re in for a treat because darling they do so offer the very best bang for your buck.

As far as I’m concerned this palette is Sephora’s sleeper hit! Made up of 10 sparkling shades of nude/natural shadows it’s the perfect combination palette for those who love sparkle, baked shadows that can used wet or dry, and of course, nude/natural shades of color like brown, gold, and heck even a little purple is sneaks into the mix of things. - NARS Danmari All About Cheeks Palette $52 Retails for $65 After Discount $52
Think of having six shades of NARS cult favorite blush at your fingertips including popular shades like Orgasm and Super Orgasm…got you excited right? This palette is a NARS first and a great deal.
- Hello Kitty Beauty Noir Eyeshadow and Lip Gloss Palette Retails for $49 After Discount $39.20
The writing is one the wall for this palette…lip gloss and powders in one tight space? Oh boy mess! And I’m taking a bet it might be Made in China, I don’t mind much but some folks do…but who can resist the gorgeous Hello Kitty packaging? I’m not passing up on a chance to own this cheeky little kitty particularly when I can get it at 20% off!
- Urban Decay Naked Palette Retails for $48 After Discount $38.40
Are their seriously people who don’t already own this one? If you happen to one of the unlucky messes to not own this one, well, I think you’re absolutely crazy! Get it, get it now! It’s one Urban Decay’s best palettes in my humblest opinion and brings home some seriously lovely shades of nude, natural shades! (Review and Swatches)
- Stila Beach Girl and Travel Girl Palettes Retails for $14 or $10 After Discount $11.20 or $8
You might be tired of these girls but you can’t go around denying that some of the color selections in these palettes were actually pretty darn awesome. Don’t miss out on Living the Life in Laguna and Wonderful in Waikiki.
- Lorac Bejeweled Day & Night Jewelry Box Retails for $56 After Discount $44.80
I haven’t personally indulged in this palette myself yet but it is in my Sephora FF cart. The thing is, last year’s set was awesome but I do feel perhaps some of the shades look like a bit of a rehash from last year…however, I can’t deny the value here as this is jammed back with lipgloss, eye pencils, 32 shadows plus blush and let’s not forget the lovely packaging! I haven’t tried this one but we all have to sit back and think about how much effort went into the making of this palette. Tarte really did an amazing job with this one which featured a mirror panels, sparkling inlays, and pull out drawers plus let’s not forget about the amount of products stashed inside this gorgeous vanity like 24 Eyeshadows, blush, bronzer, and more!

Who can resist the new Arte Palettes? With five designs to choose from you get a bit of variety with this easy on the wallet palette that features eyeshadow and blush.
- Bobbi Brown Bronze Tortoiseshell Eye Palette Retails for $60 After Discount $48
Yeah, it reeks Fall but the Tortoisehell Eye Palettes are some of my very favorite palettes to date from Bobbi Brown and feature an array of nude, natural shades that are sure to please.

This little guy can easily be overlooked but it includes 10 high quality (I’m not using that term loosely considering Stila’s track record lately) eyeshadows in wonderfully natural colors!

I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for the Too Faced Eyeshadow Collection Palettes and during Friends and Family they become even a better deal. With several shade selections to choose from plus instructions on how to get the look for three different eye looks per a palette you got yourself an easy entry into creating the perfect eye look!

I find Too Faced Holiday Palettes sell out fast…this one probably won’t be any different. Yes, they are pretty bulky but the novelty is the packaging here. It’s different, fresh, and quite exciting for those who enjoy cuter makeup pieces plus inside you’ll find some very high quality makeup as Too Faced doesn’t scrimp on quality with these palettes!
