L’occitane Pivoine Flora Incredible Lip Shine Review, Swatches, Photos

What are some of the worst tasting offenders in your lip stash? Ya know, those gross, yucky tasting lipsticks and lipglosses you avoid because they simply taste too gross to apply?

Mine…L’occitane Pivoine Flora Incredible Lip Shine. Such a crazy cool gloss but such a bad taste.

Whoever thought it was a great idea to flavor a lipgloss like a fragrance is beyond me.

Released for Spring 2011, L’occitane Incredible Lip Shine was part of the Pivoine Flora Collection. This one has alot of awesome going on since it has a nice tack that keeps the gloss in places for a nice wear time plus it’s incredibly shiny and gives lips a nice, pouty finish. I absolutely love how glossy this is and how it gives lipsticks and stains a mirror finish. The tube is ultra tiny but don’t let it fool you as it houses 0.33 ounces of gloss!

Loves it!

The problem?

It tastes like the Pivoine Flora Fragrance. Dood, ugh…seriously, fragrancing and flavoring a gloss like a perfume should be illegal. To say this kills the entire product for me is an understatement.

Le sigh, my beauty life is so unfair!

You can still get this one at most L’occitane Boutiques if you wanna give it a whirl!

Most designer lipsticks are way too fragranced for me (at least when I used them). I’m looking at you Lancome, Estee Lauder & Christian Dior especially!

a friend gave me a DNKY lip gloss and it smelled awful! It was a purple sheer color and it was pretty, but I couldn’t take the scent.

I hate the way loreal lippes taste and smell!! Their glosses aren’t that way but their lipsticks are, gag!

I threw out my UD Pocket Rocket lipgloss because of the horrid burnt sugar smell and taste. It was a bit meh anyway, but just couldn’t stand the smell and taste of it. Yuck!

I have this and I actually like it! It seems like perfume, but it tastes kind of sweet! My bf really likes it when I wear it and he kisses me. He says it tastes better than more other lip glosses (Stila, Cargo, Lancome, etc.)–just stickier.

Oh Muse! You forgot to mention that the lip gloss changes color by adapting to your lip tone. It gives me the most natural looking lips ever! I actually like wearing it on top of benetint for a more natural berry look than on my bare lips.
