Make Up For Ever Wild & Chic Eyeshadow Palette for Holiday 2011

Let me tell you, Sephora JC Penny is the work of the debil. OMG! The sales associates in their are just a nightmare. Very rude. I’m not going to get into a huge story but a mere return turned into an incredible fiasco recently when I stopped in plus asking anyone, anything about any product in there is a big mistake…they are just rude.

But I can be tempted to venture into a Sephora at JC Penny if it means I can lay my hands on the new Make Up For Ever Wild & Chic Eyeshadow Palette.

Want it?

This limited edition palette is exclusive to Sephora JC Penny Stores and features six Make Up For Ever Eyeshadows along with Aqua Eyes Eyeliner in Black.

Shades include:

  • #84 Bronze
  • #123 Khaki
  • #152 Pearly Light Pink
  • #17 Brown Black
  • #126 Beige
  • #122 Metallic Copper

The palette will be $39.

Any takers?

Do JCPennys’ Sephoras usually carry different things? I ask because one is either opening up soon or recently opened up and i am wondering if it’s worth checking out.

    • the Muse

sometimes they have exclusives tammie 🙂 but nothing majorly different outside of the fact they are smaller than a typical Sephora and normally don’t have ALL the brands that the regular stores carry.

  • Michelle

I’d report them to the company if all of the employees are like that. I worked for Sephora and believe me they’d want to know.

  • Jess

That sucks they were rude to you. The gals in the queens center mall location are always super friendly to me! I kind of love the Penny’s Sephoras–I’ve found 2 exclusive KVD pigments in there that aren’t anywhere else& are FAB, and the last time I was there, they had the UD stardust glosses!

    • the Muse

aw glad to hear it jess! ;-D It’s always nice to hear someone had a good experience! ;D

  • Mango the mango

I want this set so bad!!!

The only Sephora JC Penney I’ve been to is in San Bruno, CA. They have the nicest sales assistants, very friendly, offers help but retreats with a smile when I say, “No thank you, just browsing.” And they kept the place really tidy, too.

But now I’ve moved to NYC. I think there’s like 1 JCP in all of Manhattan? Has anybody gone there? Good or bad?

    • the Muse

gosh there is mango!? holy shiz I didn’t even know that LOL where is JCP in Manhattan? dude…I must be sleepin!

      • Dee

Hey! it at manhattan mall at 34th.. so beware it holiday shopping central craziness over there… lol.. the times i’ve been there the staff been pretty nice.. but most of the times i’ve been there i’ve been ignore by the SA, which was fine with me since i was browsing.. oh btw, i’m not sure how i get them, but i get mail from jcp sephora tat has a coupon for a free sample item.. most of the times it was buxom mascara, but there was a time that it was the hd powder from MUFE and a bodywash from the body shop

        • the Muse

hey dee I’ve actually only been there a few times but didn’t notice the sas over much which is a good thing as sometimes they are SO aggressive at Sephora!

  • AS

Ours in Sioux Falls are really nice! Maybe it is the culture of that particular store – I think most workplaces have their own MO, especially if their supervisor is a dickweed! BTW, what the heck happened to the MUFE palette Sephora was supposed to have? It was listed on the website, never came into stock, and then was pulled from the website.

    • the Muse

hey as seems that they couldn’t get it into production fast enough and holiday took primary…! 🙁

  • Freddie

Ha, I went to a different JCSephora than I normally go to since I was out of town for a night and ugh, the same woman came up to me about three times asking me if I needed help. I’m okay with one time, two times is alright sometimes… but oi, back off and let me browse!

But I pretty much love my usual JCSephora, except for one girl that wouldn’t help me match some TM shades. c:

I actually almost got this with store credit because I LOVE the packaging and the shades, but it’s very similar to my Kat Von D Ludwig palette. So I got the KVD Saint palette and the pink in here is similar to the one in the MUFE palette, so…

    • the Muse

I hate that! so aggressive! mostly for me it was how rude the MA was particularly when I had a return, it seemed like brain surgery to return an item that was brand new, never used with a receipt…she gave me a HUGE effing attitude about it…very sad. I could understand if it was used and perhaps if I had no receipt…jeepers!

I love the KVD palettes good haul!

      • Majick

Wow, and last night I was at Menlo Park and they took back a product that I actually bought at the last VIB event. It sat on my shelf for an entire year. I tried to use it twice (I really wanted to love it) but I just could NOT get it to work like it did that first night. WHat is up with that? You know, how sometimes you try something in the store and you’re all excited about it and you get it home and think, “HUH?”
Anyway I was SO happy, they let me return it for store credit.

  • Sheryl

I’m afraid I have to agree with you on the JCP Sephora employees! I was beyond thrilled when my town finally got any kind of Sephora, but after TWICE bringing in my receipts to get my rewards points corrected and then finding out that after all that they STILL hadn’t added the points to my account I went to talk to the manager. But since I’d already thrown away the cash receipts after being told it was fixed she basically told me “Too bad, so sad”. We are talking hundreds of dollars and it would have brought me to VIB status. She said the only thing she could offer me was a small take home sample of a skin care product I was interested in buying. But beauty insiders get free samples as part of the program so basically she was offering me NOTHING! I haven’t been back to the store since and now I shop only online or when I can drive the 2 hours to the next closest store. Sucks!

  • Maggie

Honestly I don’t really trust MUFE’s advance info now since they never actually sent the Smoky Eye palette out (I don’t know if they even produced them). I’ll believe this palette when I see it.

  • Heather

I had the same experience at the one in my area. Terrible. Not a single person helped me. But I’ve also had that a MAC before. Actually a lot. I have no problem with leaving the store and not spending a hundred bucks so they can help some prissy glammed up old lady who may buy one or two things. They misjudge who spends the money in their stores.

  • Eb

The first time I went to Sephora in JC Penney the sales girl was relentless in trying to sell me a holiday set. I had never been pressured to buy anything at a Sephora stand alone store. I was put off, to day the least.

  • Ad

Ugh I hate JCPenny sephora’s. I sometimes go to one because its closer to my work so I can go at lunch. Its not even fun to go there because they are rude and not really knowlegable. Then take the freestanding sephora 15min down the road and they have the sweetest most knowledgable employees.

  • Mabeline

Hmm, I’ve always had a pleasant shopping experience at the JC Penney’s Sephora. BTW, it’s Penney’s not Penny’s. 🙂 I’ve returned stuff I purchased from a full Sephora store without problems. The young ladies working the counter never gave me a hard time at Penney’s.

I’ve never had a reason to shop there because they do not carry all the brands that a full Sephora boutique carries. I can’t seem to find this palette on Sephora’s web site, so I will stop by JC Penney and see if I can pick up one there. I went to MakeUp Forever’s web site and saw a look they did with this palette. I’m sure I have dupes for these shades, but I want the palette anyway! 🙂

Thanks for letting us know it is available at Penney’s! Sorry your experience wasn’t as good as mine. You should complain though. Makeup counter jobs are hard to get into and I’m sure there are other people waiting to get their jobs who would be more cordial and accommodating to customers! 🙂

That’s too bad, I’ve always gotten really good service there. Mine carries Cargo, so I’ve picked up a couple of blushes that aren’t available at Ulta. Otherwise I just like it because I can swatch without bumping into anyone.

  • LeAnn

Hi Muse! I work for Sephora, and I can tell you that we hear complaints about the neighboring JCP Sephoras all the time. They are owned by JCPenney, and regular Sephoras are owned by LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy), so we have different education/ client service standards, etc. Hope that makes you feel better!

    • the Muse

ugh so sad isn’t it leann? oh well I prefer regular sephora anyway more brands yo!

  • Kayla

Aww I absolutely love the SA’s at my local JC Penney Sephora! They’re all such dolls… super friendly, knowledgable, and helpful. I’m sorry you had a bad experience!

  • Angel

Sorry to hear that Muse 🙁 I haven’t experienced rudeness, but they are dumb as a box of rocks in my not so humble opinion. I’ve only gone in there twice, and never again. I know more than they do about the brands they’re selling. That’s never good. Both times I was looking for a specific product, both times I was told it didn’t exist. Not that they were out of it, not that they simply didn’t carry it. No! It doesn’t exist! They tried to make me feel crazy, like I was making shiz up. Oh well, I’ll just make the drive to the REAL Sephora or order online.

    • the Muse

mmm I get that alot on counters and such angel. scares me that many of them simply don’t know a thing about what they are selling 🙁 that’s sad!

  • gabriella

Omg I can relate. The girls at my local clinique are so rude to me and I have no idea why 🙁
