mark On the Dot Eye Color Compact Review, Swatches, Photos

If you weren’t feeling the love for the Mark On The Dot Neutral Eye Color Compact because you simply aren’t a nude girl that’s quite ok, heck, I’ve been there. I went through a stage in my makeup life when all I wanted was bold, beautiful shades.

As they say, there’s a little something for everyone here and that’s why you can skip out on that palette and opt for the mark On the Dot Eye Color Compact instead and get your vibrant on!

Jump!

This little palette was introduced prior to the neutral variation and contains nine shades of bolder, vibrant shades of shadow. Bright blues, aqua, yellow, purple, and even a few shades of bronze and brown make up the palette.

In terms of quantity, you’re not getting a whole lot of shadow here as they are about the size of a dime but quality is here so hey, it could be worth your buck right?

I do so admit that the colors aren’t as pigmented as the ones you get in the Neutral Palette but they build easily and have the same great velvet-y, buttery texture that applies easily onto lids. I do place a warning on the formula for lids with finer lines as these could prove tricky during application since they are a bit of a heavier formula. The shades wore strong for me with no creasing issues so long as I prepped prior UDPP. These have a slightly frosty finish but they blend out well enough that you won’t notice. The medium pigmentation is a tad disappointing since you’re forced to build color more to get the best results but you can get a mighty popping eye look with a little dedication during application.

The compact is tiny and travels nicely. The shadows are firmly in place so a toss into your bag won’t cause any cracking or breaking as you tote them around. You get a dual ended sponge applicator for application as well. The well for the shadow applicator houses a strip of mirror which I thought was a tad useless as the compact itself has room for a mirror but sadly they didnt place one inside which I thought was disappointing as it cheapens the overall packaging a bit.

Overall, this one didn’t gain my Muse Approval but I liked it alot. I think it’s a cute stocking stuffer and a unique item that makeup lovers might have overlooked. The $15 price tag is a little high since the shadows are an small but Id say it’s worth grabbing anyway particularly if you’re doing a Mark order sometime soon.

    ooh They’re such pretty colors!

I’ve always wondered if these palettes were worth it because they have such tiny eyeshadows…the few Mark products I’ve tried weren’t that great, but these look so nice.

If I weren’t trying to cut back, I probably would get this haha

I tried this, and let’s just say…it didn’t make the “it” list. quite frankly, I hated it. Even with a primer. the payoff wasn’t bad, but it transferred for me like nobody’s business. i put the brown on my lid, blended into gold on the crease, and i ended up with a strip of brown above my crease within the hour. :C
